    2025 SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

    The Cathy Coughlin Memorial Scholarship was established to honor the memory of an AT&T trailblazer who encouraged young people pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

    Five (5) $1000 scholarships will be awarded to five deserving applicants who are currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program and majoring in a STEM-related field of study.

    All application materials must be received between August 8 - October 3, 2025 (midnight Eastern Time).


    ELIGIBILITY
    Applicants must be:

    • An undergraduate, classified as either a Junior or Senior and currently enrolled at an accredited college or university
      OR:
    • A graduate student currently enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited college or university
    • Majoring in a STEM-related field and seeking a STEM-related degree
    • Have a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA (4.00 scale)
    • Sponsored by a Women of AT&T member 

    AT&T employees are not eligible to receive a National Women of AT&T Scholarship.

     

    AWARD CRITERIA
    Scholarship recipients are chosen through a process that evaluates the following areas:

    • Academic Standing (Official Transcript / GPA)
    • Essay
      - Content (original work, creative, well thought out, engaging, speaks to topic)
      - Quality (well-written, solid sentences and paragraphs, proper grammar, correct spelling)

  • APPLICATION PROCESS

    The scholarship application package includes:

    1. Submission of online Scholarship Application.  The online scholarship is available by clicking Next at the bottom of the page.
    2. Official Transcript (with weighted GPA) sent electronically from the school directly to: 
      dl-woa_transcripts@att.com

    Applicants are encouraged to contact schools as early as possible for their transcript to ensure plenty of time for processing before the deadline. Transcripts must be official and must be sent directly from the school. Transcripts sent directly from an applicant will not be accepted.


    NOTIFICATION OF WINNERS

    Scholarship recipients will be notified via email (or phone if no email is available) by the end of November 2025.  Scholarships are payable directly to a recipient's college or university.  All Women of AT&T Scholarship Committee decisions are final.

  • HELPFUL REMINDERS

    1. Please ensure that you complete the entire application.

    2. Request transcripts as early as possible to ensure receipt prior to the scholarship deadline.  Transcripts must be received between August 8 - October 3, 2025 (midnight Eastern Time). Only Official Transcripts received directly from an applicant's school will be accepted.

    3. Your school should send the most current transcript available.  Information populated in your online application should align with the transcript.
       
    4. Please ensure your essay meets the 500 word minimum / 800 word maximum guideline.  Your essay must be original work written solely by the applicant and must be written to topic. The use of AI-assistance is strongly discouraged.

    5. Carefully review your application for accuracy before submitting.

    6. All application materials must be received between August 8 - October 3, 2025 (midnight Eastern Time).

    7. The online application will remain active as long as your browser is open.  If you close your browser prior to submitting the application, your information will be lost.

  • FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

    1. Are recipients of the 2025 Women of AT&T National Scholarship eligible to apply?
      No.  If you were a recipient of the 2025 Women of AT&T National Scholarship, you are not eligible to apply for the 2025 Cathy Coughlin Memorial Scholarship.  If you received a Women of AT&T Scholarship in a previous year, you are eligible to apply.  

    2. How are scholarship recipients selected?
      The National Scholarship Committee evaluates and selects scholarship recipients based on the criteria outlined above. All National Scholarship Committee decisions are final.

    3. How are scholarship recipients notified?
      The National Scholarship Committee will notify scholarship recipients via email (or phone, if no email is available), by the end of November.  The names will also be shared via Women of AT&T social media and published in the National Newsletter.

    4. Can an employee of AT&T receive a scholarship?
      No, AT&T employees are not eligible.

    5. If I want to make changes to my submitted application, may I resubmit my application?
      Please carefully review your application for accuracy before submitting. If you must to make revisions to a submitted application, send an email to:

    If you could teach a class on any STEM topic to a group of young people, what would you teach and why? How would you make the subject engaging and inspiring? Select a topic you're passionate about and explain why it’s important for young people to learn it. Describe your teaching approach, activities, and methods to make the subject exciting and accessible. Show your enthusiasm for mentoring and inspiring the next generation.
