On long, dark nights, chilling fireside tales told of daring deeds and deadly dread. Of all the ghostly, strange, and outrageous stories to haunt local folklore, none was more popular than that of Sandy Flash, the Terror of Delaware County. As one of Pennsylvania's most infamous legends, so notorious was his name that the very road leading to the Colonial Pennsylvania Farmstead, Sandy Flash Drive, still bears it today.

Now, under the flicker of lantern light, meet the victims, captors, and admirers who bring Sandy Flash’s story to life. Experience his world firsthand, conjured by firelight on the grounds of the Colonial Pennsylvania Farmstead… if you dare.

We strongly recommend all participants are age 12 and up.

Tours leave every half hour from the Visitor Center and run approximately 1 hour. Please note the tour involves covering about 1 mile on uneven terrain. Light will be offered by campfires, torches, candles, and lanterns. If you have any concerns about mobility, please let us know in advance of your visit. The event is held rain or shine and tickets are non-refundable. We encourage participants to dress comfortably for the weather and wear closed toed shoes. Restrooms are available at the top of the site and not conveniently located to the Visitor Center.
