Exhibition curators Simon Blattner and Barbara Wells invite artisans, craftspeople, and makers to submit work for inclusion in Craft in the Valley, an upcoming exhibition celebrating the creativity, mastery, and meaning of handmade craft in all its forms. This show honors the role of craft as both functional art and a vessel for personal, cultural, and community expression.
Eligibility
- Open to makers living or working in Sonoma Valley and surrounding regions.
- All work must be original and handcrafted by the artist.
- Both traditional and contemporary approaches to craft are welcome.
Accepted Media
We welcome submissions in a wide range of craft disciplines, including but not limited to:
- Ceramics
- Textiles / Fiber Arts
- Woodworking
- Metalwork / Jewelry
- Glass
- Basketry
- Book Arts
- Functional Art Objects
- Mixed media works grounded in handcraft traditions
Submission Requirements
- Up to 5 works may be submitted for consideration.
- For each work, include:
- Title, medium, dimensions, year completed
- 1–3 clear images per work (JPG, 300 dpi preferred)
- Brief artist statement (max 250 words) describing how your work connects to the themes
- Optional: short bio or resume (PDF)
