    Caucasus University research
  • Hello there, I am a student at Caucasus University and I am writing a paper on "Assessing perceived Therapeutic and Metacognitive features of automated conversational tools in Youth" as part of my research project. It aims to gauge the degree of perceived therapeutic characteristics of AI Chatbots, potential feelings of alliance, care, encouragement, soothing, and so on.

Metacognition is about understanding own thoughts, recognizing own strengths and weaknesses, monitoring own thinking processes and choices, to improve problem-solving and adjust one's strategies accordingly. An AI system's metacognitive capacities may be considered: textually expressed self-awareness, changing an approach based on user feedback, explaining the reasoning behind a comment/assumption, correcting errors, decision-making, emotional literacy, etc.

Now, it is important for you to understand the purpose and what the study will involve.

    • The target population--> Adolescents and Young Adults: it is open to all those aged 15-24.
    • There will be two short surveys and an interaction with a therapy bot prototype, overall lasting approx. 15 minutes
    • Questions are about demographic information, experience and feelings toward AI uses. You will be taken to a page to interact with a chatbot, and then asked to rate its features
    • All your responses will be anonymized and deleted after data analysis.
    • The survey results will be used for academic research and may be presented at a conference.
    • You may withdraw from the study at any time without providing a reason.

  • On this page, you will chat with an AI assistant (chat.earkick.com "Dr. Panda AI")

You are encouraged to ask questions and follow up to obtain as much information as needed. You can talk about something real on your mind, or act out an imaginary scenario.

The Chatbot may make mistakes, misinterpret what you say, or provide too generic or incomplete responses. No AI tools are a replacement or explicitly provide clinical mental health care, crisis support, or professional guidance.

The conversations are NOT supervised in any way, and will NOT be seen.

    • All responses are completely confidential. No identifying information is collected.
    • Your participation is entirely voluntary. You may exit at any time.
    • The bot might require registration, in which case you can reload the site or close that pop-up.

After your interaction, you’ll be asked to complete a short feedback survey rating your satisfaction and perceptions about the chatbot.

    • Use the chat freely and honestly—there are no right or wrong ways to engage:
  • Please rate the following Chatbot characteristics from a scale of 0-5, based on both your interaction in the previous page, and general experiences.

there is no right or wrong, answers have to be subjective. Respond honestly:
