  • The Readers Rise program will be offered at the following schools during the 2025-26 school year:

    • Hoffman-Boston Elementary (1415 S Queen St., Arlington, VA 22204)
      • Kindergarten - 3rd grade
      • Tuesdays 8:45 - 9:30 a.m.
      • Wednesdays 8:45 - 9:30 a.m.
      • Thursdays 8:45 - 9:30 a.m.
    • Barrett Elementary (4401 N Henderson Rd. Arlington, VA 22203)
      • Tue or Thu
      • Kindergarten 12:35 - 1:20 p.m.
      • 1st grade 2:30 - 3:15 p.m.
      • 2nd grade 9:45 - 10:30 a.m.
    • Long Branch Elementary (33 N Fillmore St., Arlington, VA 22201)
      • Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu or Fri
      • Kindergarten 8:45 - 9:30 a.m.
      • 1st grade 9:30 - 10:15 a.m.
      • 2nd grade 1 - 1:45 p.m.

    Reading sessions are scheduled to begin in mid-October 2025 and end in May 2026. Sessions will be hosted in person during the school day.

  • Volunteer Clearance

    All Reading mentors must obtain and maintain a valid background clearance from Arlington Public Schools. APS will follow up with all volunteers to assist in the clearance process and ensure we have the appropriate records on file.
