Chili Cook off Sign Up!
The Great Bowls of Fire Chili Cook-off will be held on Saturday, October 25 in the Parish Hall. Doors will open at 10:00 AM for contestants, and all chili should be hot and ready to serve by 11:00–11:15 AM. After unloading, please move your car around to the back to keep the front area clear for guests. Each contestant must bring at least 6 quarts of chili. We’ll email you on October 20 with the headcount, and if the number changes, you’ll receive a final update two days before the event. You are responsible for your own utensils, ingredients, and any equipment needed to keep your chili at a safe serving temperature. A crockpot is strongly recommended, and each entry will have access to one electrical outlet. Outlets are limited, so if your chili has trust issues about being too far from the wall, please bring an extension cord. You’ll also want to bring your own serving ladle—otherwise you may end up in the community ladle shuffle. We will provide tasting spoons, cups, and a table cover for each station, along with a Parish Hall that will smell like pure chili heaven. Condiments will not be provided, so if you want toppings such as cheese or sour cream, please bring them with you.Voting is simple: every guest will receive five tickets to place in the jars at contestant stations. The jar with the most tickets wins the coveted Golden Ladle, which doesn’t just shine—it glows with bragging rights until next year.At the end of the event, contestants are responsible for cleaning their space and removing all items. There will not be an area for washing dishes, and nothing may be left behind in the Parish Hall after the Cook-off. This form is to sign up as a contestant, not just to say you’re attending. If you have any questions, please email amy.erin.hill@gmail.com.
