Rules & Regulations
1. The Show will be run under AAA and AQHA rules.
2. Entries close on {entriesClose01}. Full payment and copies of competitor’s membership card and horse’s registration are required to complete entries. Late entries after the closing date will be accepted at the discretion of the Secretary of SAAC and a late entry fee be added to entry fees.
3. NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN unless notification of withdrawal is accompanied by a veterinary or medical certificate.
4. All horses must be registered with the AAA Ltd and owners/competitors/ strappers/handlers must be current AAA Ltd members.
5. No horse can cross-enter a western pleasure and ranch riding class at the same show regardless of division (youth or amateur).
6. Novice Amateur – Competitors must be eligible as per AAA Rule Book.
(a) Novice Amateurs cannot cross-enter Amateur Classes in the same discipline but can compete in an Amateur Class if no Novice Amateur class is offered. Only Novice
Amateur classes count toward the High Point.
(b) If an Amateur Novice competes in performance events they cannot compete in any open, age or amateur feature events (that is, not novice only). *Includes features, showcases, classics and jackpots, etc. Excludes Led Halter and Led Versatility events.
7. Amateurs competing on more than two horses must nominate a maximum of two horses towards their highpoint awards for the show prior to competing.
8. Youth are required to wear an Australian Standard safety helmet whilst working a horse. They may wear a Western hat during western classes only.
9. Youth competing on more than two horses must nominate two horses towards their highpoint awards for the show prior to competing.
10. All youth competing /entering the event must have their entry form signed by a parent or guardian. All youth must be in the care of a responsible adult who must be in attendance for the duration of the event whilst the youth is in attendance.
11. Youth Walk/Trot 7-10 Years cannot enter any other ridden class. Youth competing in 7-10 yrs Walk Trot classes can compete with one or two hands on the reins irrespective of the age of the horse, however the correct tack (bit and bridle) must be used to the age of the horse.
12. Yearling High Point: Yearlings must be shown in all three classes to be eligible for high point.
13. Two Year Led: Horses must be shown in all three classes to be eligible for high point.
14. Three Years & Over: Horses must be shown in all three classes to be eligible for high point.
15. Horses entered in the Two and Three Years & Over Led classes cannot enter any ridden class, including Lead Line. They must not have competed in any ridden classes during the current show season.
16. Two-Year-Old: Ridden horses can compete in Junior Horse OR Two-year-old classes, but not both. Maximum of 5 events.
17. All Futurity classes will be jackpotted to third place (80% total entries divided 50%, 30%, 20%).
18. Numbers are allocated to the horse not the rider/handler. The correct number must be displayed to be eligible to compete.
19. The Committee reserves the right to alter the programme.
20. Every horse and competitor will be under the control of the Show Manager. No conversation with the judge is allowed except through the Ring Steward or Show Manager.
21. The judge’s decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into. Any protest must be lodged with the Show Manager within thirty minutes of the event accompanied by a fee of $50 which is only returnable if the protest is upheld.
22. All riders ride at their own risk and acknowledge this by attendance at this show and upon signing the entry form.
23. Dogs must be restrained or on a leash at all times and are not permitted in the spectator area of the arena.
24. Approved safety helmets and correct footwear must be worn at all times when riding in the horse areas outside of the Main arena.
25. No alcohol is to be consumed on the premises at any time.
26. Where yards/stables are available, bookings are to be made through the venue management (not SAAC). Stables are not to be booked for Tack Rooms.
