  • PART 1

    REQUIREMENTS FOR DELIVERIES
  • 4) I understand I will stay with my vehicle at all times unless a PCL employee or designate, who has completed the full health safety and environment orientation, escorts me while on the project site.*
  • I understand that if I must exit the vehicle cab, Part 2 must be completed with my Receiving Contact.*
  • PART 2

    IDENTIFY TASK STEPS & HAZARDS, THEN IDENTIFY PLANS TO ELIMINATE OR CONTROL HAZARDS
  • TASK STEP 1:

    • No Mobile Phone Use While Operating Vehicle/ Equipment

    HAZARDS:

    • Distraction-related accidents if the rule is ignored (e.g., collisions, rollovers).

    CONTROLS:

    • At no time will a driver be allowed to utilize a mobile phone while operating a vehicle/equipment.
  • STEP 2 TASK:

    • Unload Only in Designated Areas

    HAZARDS:

    • Unstable ground conditions in non-designated areas (e.g., soft soil, uneven terrain).

    CONTROLS:

    • Only unload in the designated are specified by your point of contact or by a PCL representative.
  • TASK STEP 3:

    • Missing PPE – Stay in Vehicle Until Instructed

    HAZARDS:

    • Exposure to hazardous materials or environments if the individual exits without PPE.

    CONTROLS:

    • If you are missing any PPE requirements, you must stay in your vehicle until further instructions are provided to you from your point of contact or a PCL representative.
  • TASK STEP 4:

    • Verify Load Stability and Clear Area Before Off-Loading

    HAZARDS:

    • Falling or shifting materials causing crush injuries.
    • Struck-by incidents if workers are in the drop zone.
    • Equipment damage from unstable loads or obstructed paths.

    CONTROLS:

    • Prior to off-loading, verify load hasn't shifted and area is clear of workers.
  • TASK STEP 5:

    • Do Not Stand Where Material Can Shift or On Materials While Securing

    HAZARDS:

    • Crush injuries from shifting loads.
    • Falls from height if standing on unstable or elevated materials.
    • Material collapse due to improper weight distribution or movement.

    CONTROLS:

    • DO NOT stand where material can shift onto you and don't stand on materials when securing or strapping down material.
  • TASK STEP 6:

    • Stay Clear of Forklifts or Other Equipment During Loading/Unloading

    HAZARDS:

    • Struck-by or run-over incidents from moving equipment.
    • Pinch points or entrapment between equipment and materials.
    • Reduced visibility leading to unintentional contact with pedestrians.

    CONTROLS:

    • Stay clear of forklift or other equipment loading/ off-loading.
