Selection Process
The AKWHOF board will review all nominations for compliance and send completed nominations to an independent Selection Committee of women from communities throughout Alaska.
- The selections are based on the value of the nominees' contribution(s) to society, the significant impact of their achievement(s), and the enduring value of their achievement(s).
- Your completed nomination is the official form used to determine the merits of each nominee for induction into the Alaska Women’s Hall of Fame. References to websites are not acceptable nominations. Please refrain from sending petitions, photographs, books, and other materials.
How to Submit a Nomination
- Begin by creating an account. Store your login and password for future nominations.
- Complete your nomination in a separate document, such as Word, and save it for your records. Once your nomination is complete, copy and paste the information into this form to submit your nomination.
- If more than one person wants to make a nomination, add them and their comments to one nomination; don’t offer two nominations.
- It is your responsibility to make sure that the information submitted is accurate. The board suggests that you contact the nominee (or her family) to confirm dates, names, locations, and ask which accomplishments she would like recognized.
