Trauma-informed grappling - Lived Experience Survey Logo
  • Toward a trauma-informed grappling program

A survey for victim-survivors who haven't started jiu-jitsu yet (but might in future if the conditions are right)
  • Thank you for taking the time to complete this survey. We anticipate you will need 20 minutes if you watch the whole videos and 5 minutes if you just watch the initial 10 seconds of each video.

The purpose of this survey is to collect your initial impressions of jiu-jitsu as someone who has never done this sport/self defense system.

Conscious Combat Club is at Stage 1 of developing a pilot program for trauma-informed grappling program which will make jiu jitsu accessible for women and gender-diverse people with lived-experience of violence and trauma. Stage 1 also includes a literature review and interviews you can participate in by leaving your email address at the end of this survey.

In Stage 2 we publish our initial program plan for feedback from victim-survivors and coaches which you can also participate in if you like by noting your email at the end of this survey.

Once the community is satisfied we'll invite women and gender-diverse people to participate in the first pilot, after which we'll collect data and further refine the program.

  • Please watch the following videos and share your impressions. You only need to watch the first 10 seconds of each but you are welcome to watch the whole video if you like.

  • Thank you for completing this form. If you'd like to see the report we produce from this survey please note your email address below.

  • Thank you for your interest in helping us create a trauma-informed jiu jitsu program. This survey is only for victim-survivors of violence to share their lived-experience. You can get involved with our work in other ways via our website: https://www.consciouscombat.club/
