Welcome to the Ace of Clubs! Thank you for taking the time to volunteer at Ace of Clubs. Your commitment is crucial in allowing us to provide the best services possible for people experiencing homelessness.

Our volunteer shifts are weekdays 9:30am - 3pm. During your shift, there are a variety of roles and tasks that you might do such as:
- Sorting through food donations
- Prepping and chopping ingredients for the lunch service
- Welcoming guests and signing them in at the front desk
- Serving hot meal lunches
- Serving coffee and teas to the guests
- Washing up plates, cutlery and mugs
- Cleaning up after the lunch service
Additionally, we are always seeking volunteers with skillsets in social media, fundraising or communications. If you have other skills that you think might be helpful, please let us know below.

DBS CHECK

Because we are interacting with vulnerable people, safeguarding principles and procedures are fundamental for this work. For that reason, a basic DBS check will be necessary for this role.

We recognise the contributions that people with criminal convictions can make within our charity and all applications will be considered on an individual basis depending on the circumstances, timing, frequency, relevance and seriousness of the offence. If you would prefer to discuss directly, rather than disclose on this form, then please contact us.

After your application has been reviewed, we ask that you apply for a basic DBS and send it to us as soon as possible. Unfortunately, we cannot apply for this on your behalf and cannot cover the cost. A basic DBS check will cost £21.50.

If you already have a DBS check dated within the past 3 years, please share that with us instead and inform us if you are registered to the Update Service.

If the cost of £21.50 is prohibitive to you volunteering at Ace of Clubs, then please let us know in the comments section below, as we do not want the DBS processing fee to deter people from volunteering.
