2026 Falls Harvest Festival: Scarecrow Contest Registration

Join us for our 2026 Falls Harvest Festival Scarecrow Contest!

It's time to dust off your straw hats, gather your best autumn gear, and start planning your masterpiece. We can't wait to see all the incredible and unique creations our community comes up with!

Quick Facts:

- This contest is open to ALL! Join in on the fun as an individual, group, or business.

- Voting will be open throughout the entirety of the Falls Harvets Festival. Stop by the Information tent to vote!

- Scarecrows are allowed to stay up through the month of October, but must be taken down by Sunday, November 1st.

- The winners will be announced on Monday, October 6th! 

-1st place winner will receive $100

-2nd place winner will receive $50.

-3rd place winner will receive $25.

The 2026 Scarecrow Contest Rules:

1. Check in and set up of your scarecrow will be on the morning of Saturday, October 3rd from 8am - 10am. Meet at the Watkins Glen Promotions Informational tent located near the Main Stage.
2. You are responsible for removal of your scarecrow from festival grounds. Removal will begin no later than Saturday, November 1st by 11:59pm.
3. Scarecrows are to be prepared in advance and set up on your assigned street post.
4. Scarecrows must be original creations and in good taste. There will be no political, religious, or gory displays allowed. There will be immeidate removal if this rule is not followed.
5. No flamable objects permitted.
6. Minimum of 4ft tall, maximum of 8ft tall. One scarecrow per entry allowed.
7. Decisions are final and made by public voters. Voting will occur thorughout the day of the Falls Harvest Festival, and there is no limit to the amount of times one can vote.
8. Watkins Glen Promotions, the Village of Montour Falls, and Schuyler County are not liable for any loss or damage to entries.
9. Watkins Glen Promotions reserves the right to use photographs of the scarecrows for publicity.
