• Georgia REALTORS® Hall of Fame Official Nomination Form

  • APPLICATION DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 1 BY 5:00 PM

  • The Georgia REALTOR® Hall of Fame, established in 2012, honors Georgia REALTORS® who have made extraordinary and distinguished contributions to the real estate profession and markets in Georgia. Hall of Fame induction is considered GAR’s highest career honor. Honorees will be recognized each year during the GAR Inaugural Conference, and via a perpetual memorial plaque at the GAR Headquarters Building in Atlanta.

    METHOD OF SELECTION:

    1. Nomination must be by a member or local board of the Association. Nominations are due to GAR no later than November 1 each year. Lobbying for the nominee by his or her local board or any individual is improper and may disqualify the nominee, at the discretion of the selection committee.
    2. The GAR Hall of Fame Advisory Council will review Hall of Fame nominations and select the honorees from the applications submitted. The Hall of Fame Advisory Council also may choose to induct members who
have made outstanding contributions to GAR who have not been nominated by a specific individual or local board. Using the criteria below as a guideline, selection into the Hall of Fame will be by majority agreement of those members of the committee present at the selection meeting.
    3. The Hall of Fame Advisory Council shall elect up to two living inductees and two deceased inductees each year. Council may opt not to honor any individuals in any given year.
    4. The Hall of Fame Advisory Council feels the honor seeks the candidate; any campaigning or contact with any council member is strongly discouraged. If you have any questions about this entry, please contact the GAR Staff Liaison at awards@garealtor.com.

    CRITERIA FOR SELECTION:

Nominee must have had at least 30 years of continuous service as a member of the Georgia REALTORS®. Exceptional candidates whose length of involvement is or was limited due to death or disability will be considered even if their minimum requirement of 30 years is not met.

Nominee must have contributed significantly to the real estate profession in the State of Georgia.

Nominee must have been active in at least two levels of the real estate organization (local/national – one level must be GAR involvement) and must be recognized as a leader in the real estate profession in his or her community.

Nominee must hold a current membership in the REALTOR® Association, unless deceased.

An individual may be nominated more than once; however, a new form must be resubmitted each year a person is nominated. Information will not be carried over from one year to the next.

All Hall of Fame nomination forms are kept strictly confidential. All materials submitted become the property of the Georgia REALTORS® and will not be returned.
