  • She Holds The Line: Black Women Speak on Gender Identity

    Anthology Submission Form for Creators
  • Thank you for your interest in contributing to She Holds The Line.

This anthology focuses on perspectives that would normally be silenced or considered controversial, including black women who do not conform to “politically correct” liberal narratives, and/or black women who have been harmed as a result of laws and/or social norms promoted within the trans / gender identity movement.

This project is close to my heart and I look forward to reading your writings!

    Please remember:

    • Submissions are due on Nov. 1st by 11pmEST
    • Title your work
    • Essays, Personal (Non-Fiction) Stories, and Poetry are welcome.
    • There is a 3,000 word limit for writing submissions.
    • Visual Artists are welcome to submit either a Comic Strip to tell your story or a Visual Art piece to accompany your writing.
    • Your own lived experience must be the focus or a key element in your work.
    • All submissions must be 100% original and unpublished anywhere else.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out at n3vlynnn@gmail.com.

    Thank you!

  • Author Names

Please note that real names and artist names (that you are known by) are highly preferred for publication. This anthology is designed to amplify the voices of black women who would like to be visible in sharing their stories or who have already taken a public stance on gender ideology in some way.

I totally understand that going public with your views on this subject can be challenging. For this reason, there is room in the anthology for a limited number of pseudononymous writers/artists. If your story is particularly relevant to the anthology, it will still be considered for publication.

  • In the interest of transparency, I’m sharing this template of the Publishing agreement for Author contributors to this anthology. I will ask authors to sign this contract once we have agreed on a final story, complete with any necessary edits.

Please be aware that the version I’m sharing publicly is not final, not legally binding, and may be edited or modified before it is sent to authors for their signatures.

This is just to ensure we are all on the same page about the general terms of participation in this project and the next steps. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
