$20 Payment due first day at workshop (October 16)
Dates & Activities:
Day 1 Thursday, October 16th, 6 - 8:00 PM Mexican American author and artist Nancy Viera introduces the meaning & practice of making an ofrenda in remembrance of loved ones who've passed. Art activities include: Painting a saint candle,
making a flower wreath,designing a calavera and creating a background board for your ofrenda. (For the background art, please bring any photos, special papers or bric-a-bac to be attached to the board. Boards, glue, paint & other supplies will be provided.)
Day 2 Thursday, October 23rd, 6 - 8:00 PM Nancy Viera will guide us in writing a Calaverita Poem – Learn the tradition of humorous, heartfelt “calaveritas” (skull poems) and write your own playful tribute to someone living or passed. (Please bring a journal, notebook or paper and pen or pencil to start writing your calaveritas!)
LOCATION: 2810 Wilderness Place, Suite C, Boulder CO (Drive around the back to enter at the 3rd/Center door or if in front, ring the doorbell!)
