Participant Eligibility & Supervision

Birthday Pawties are available for children ages 5 and up.
Parents or guardians must remain with their children at all times during the party.

Food & Party Supplies

Guests are invited to bring cupcakes, beverages, and gifts to celebrate during the last 45 minutes of the party.
No foods requiring refrigeration are allowed.
All other supplies including plates, cups, utensils, napkins, and serving items must be provided by the party host.
We ask that guests refrain from bringing additional party decorations (e.g., wall décor, streamers) to minimize cleanup and prevent damage to our party rooms.

Location & Movement

Parties take place exclusively in the Conference Room or Community Center building (based on availability).
Guests must remain in the designated party area unless accompanied by an LTBHS staff member on a scheduled shelter tour.
We warmly invite guests to return at a different time to visit with adoptable animals.

Animal Interaction Policy

For the safety and well-being of all, LTBHS staff exclusively select the animals for visitations during the party. While staff may ask for input on preferred species, guests do not choose the visiting animals.
If an animal appears uncomfortable or unsafe at any time, the Community Engagement Coordinator or designated staff will remove the animal immediately.
If time and availability permit, a replacement animal may be introduced, but animal visits are not guaranteed.

Behavior & Safety Rules

LTBHS staff reserve the right to end a party early without refund if guest behavior is inappropriate, violates guidelines, or endangers any animal or person.
Firearms, weapons, or any form of violence are strictly prohibited. If observed, the reservation will be ended immediately with no refund issued.
Our entire campus is smoke free (including vapor, e-cigarettes, and any tobacco products).
Birthday parties begin and end on time, and punctuality is expected.

Health Policy

To protect the health and safety of all participants, please do not attend if sick.
If a participant has seen a doctor, please follow their recommendations for when it is safe to return to group activities.

Additional Information

The birthday child will receive an LTBHS T-shirt and have the opportunity to name an adoptable animal within one month following the party.
We encourage guests who wish to request treats, supplies, or donations to LTBHS instead of birthday presents — the animals thank you!
