    Application for Edwin and Gretchen Adler Award

  • This experiential learning scholarship is intended to support students pursuing a degree in the College of Social Science who are participating in a study abroad program.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Open to students in good academic standing who majors in the College of Social Science.
    • Applicants must be enrolling in a study abroad program in the Summer 2026 or Fall 2026

      TO APPLY:

    1. Submit a one- to two-page statement explaining why you wish to participate in experiential learning and how the Ed & Gretchen Adler award would support your participation.


    Be sure to specify the program you will enroll in, why you have chosen it, and the program dates.

    2.   Submit one letter of recommendation

    DEADLINE:

    Complete this application with supporting materials by Sunday, February 1, 2026.


    Note: All required materials must be uploaded before submitting the application by February 1, 2026.

  • If the author of the Letter of Recommendation requires the letter sealed and delivered to the college office, please drop-off or mail to the College of Social Science, Office of Experiential Learning, 509 E. Circle Drive, Berkey Hall, Room 221, East Lansing, MI 48824; or they may email the letter to SSC.AcademicAffairs@msu.edu.

    NOTE: It is the student’s responsibility to make sure the letter is received in 221 Berkey Hall prior to the deadline.  If the letter is not received by the deadline, the letter will not be included for consideration with the application.
