  • 2025 OCTA AWARDS NOMINATION FORM Complete the information below to nominate someone for a 2025 OCTA Award.  All recipients will be acknowledged at the OCTA Awards Luncheon on November 8, 2025. The nominations will close Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 5 pm.  

  • NOMINATION INFORMATION:  Must fill out and provide all information required for that award.  No individual is to be nominated again for an award previously received.  After ten years, a theatre may be nominated again for an award previously received.  Past recipients are listed on oktheatre.org

    • Anothony Batchelder Website Award: This award is presented in recognition of Excellence in maintaining the Best Website for a current Oklahoma Community Theatre Member.

    • Bill Crawford Memorial Award: This award is presented to a person or member organization in recognition of their service and devotion to OCTA and its theatres.

    • Bravo Award: Individuals may be nominated by a Member Theatre. The nominee will be recognized for outstanding service as a volunteer. Nomination should state why the nominee deserves to receive this award.

    • Charles Hair OCTA Volunteer of the Year: This award is presented to individuals who have provided a year of volunteer service to an OCTA member theatre. These individuals may have been founders or early patrons of their theatre. Their leadership has been compelling to the growth of their theatre.

    • Corporation of the Year: This award recognizes a Corporation or Business that may have provided special services; funding; volunteers or something that enhanced the purpose of the mission of the Member Theatre.

    • Doobie Potter OCTA Directing Excellence Award (established 2025). This award was introduced by the OCTA Board in memory of one of the most dedicated OCTA volunteers. She was an Oklahoma Arts Council Artist in Resident that worked with many theatre groups across the state and brought many award winning productions to OCTAFest.

      A theater director is a professional who is responsible for overseeing the creative aspects of a theater production. They are responsible for interpreting the script and bringing it to life on stage through the use of actors, designers, and stage crew to ensure that the final product is a cohesive and visually striking performance. This award is to recognize individuals from your community theatre that excel in directing and their productions are the highest quality and complete.

    • Hall of Honor: This award is the highest recognition for lifetime service in an Oklahoma nonprofit theatre and for significant contributions to OCTA. Recommendation should include the nominee's contributions to state and local community theatre, their involvement in all aspects of theatre work, and why the nominator feels they merit this award. The nominee must be a current OCTA member.

    • Jeanne Adams Wray Special Recognition Award: This award is given to those selected persons who are not working with community theatre in Oklahoma, but have or are making contributions to its progress.

    • New Theatre of the Year: This award recognizes a theatre that has existed for five or fewer years, and must be producing two productions for two years; if non-profit, provide a current list of Board of Directors.  The purpose is to encourage a new theatre to become familiar with OCTA, show progress made during its time of existence, continue to maintain an OCTA membership and strive in future years to be awarded the OCTAVISION or OCTA THEATRE OF THE YEAR.

    • OCTAVision: This award is given to a current OCTA member theatre that has established and accomplished a substantial long-range goal.

      The theatre must meet the following criteria:
      • Attach a completed Cover Letter Form
      • If non-profit, a list of the current Board of Directors.
      • Describe the established goal, such as remodeling, converting a building, going from community to nonprofit, or burning a mortgage.
      • The goal must have been successfully completed when nominated
      • The theatre must have been an OCTA member in the previous membership year.

    • Special Achievement Spotlight Award: A posthumous award may be conferred at the discretion of the Board. This award is presented in recognition of an individual’s outstanding service to Community Theatre in Oklahoma.

    • Theatre of the Year: Nomination must include:
      • If non-profit, a list of the current Board of Directors.
      • Show a continuous production season of 10 years with at least two productions each year.
      • An outline of the theatre activities over the past 5 years.
      • Note growth or positive change in the organization
      • Contributions to the local community
      • Major achievements or projects in the past year.
      • Must be a current member of OCTA
