  • Fluffy Butts Rescue Foster Agreement

    This Foster Agreement ("Agreement") is entered into by and between Fluffy Butts Rescue, Inc. ("Rescue") and the undersigned volunteer ("Foster") for the purpose of fostering one or more animals in the care of the Rescue.

    1. Foster Responsibilities

    A. The Foster agrees to provide safe, humane, and loving temporary care for the animal(s) placed in their care, including food, water, shelter, and companionship.

    B. The Foster agrees to comply with all guidelines and protocols provided by the Rescue, including decompression periods, behavior management, and veterinary protocols.

    C. The Foster agrees not to transfer, adopt out, or rehome the foster animal without written approval from the Rescue.

    D. The Foster agrees to notify the Rescue immediately of any significant changes in behavior health or environment

  • 2. Legal Ownership

    All animals remain the sole property of Fluffy Butts Rescue, Inc. The Foster has no legal ownership or rights to the animal unless and until a formal adoption is completed and executed in writing.

  • 3. Hold Harmless and Release of Liability

     The Foster understands that animals may be unpredictable and may cause injury or damage. The Foster agrees to hold harmless and release Fluffy Butts Rescue, Inc., its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, and agents from any and all liability, claims, or damages arising out of or in connection with fostering, including but not limited to injury to persons, pets, or property.

    The Foster acknowledges that they are fostering at their own risk and assume full responsibility for incidents that may occur while the animal is in their care.

    4. Foster-to-Adopt and Adoption Trials

    Fluffy Butts Rescue, Inc. does not conduct "foster-to-adopt" or "trial adoptions." All foster placements are considered temporary, and any intent to adopt must be formally communicated through the standard adoption process and approved in writing.

    5. Termination and Return of Animal

    The Foster agrees to return the animal to the Rescue upon request or if they are no longer able to provide care.

    If the Foster initiates termination, they agree to continue housing the animal until a replacement foster is secured, unless it is unsafe to do so.

    Fosters may not abandon the animal, relinquish it to a shelter, or transfer care to any other party without written approval.

  • 6. Emergency Protocols

    In the event of an emergency (illness, injury, or behavioral incident), the Foster agrees to contact the Rescue immediately and follow all instructions provided.

    Emergency veterinary care must be approved by the Rescue unless it is life-threatening and immediate care is required.

  • 7. Anti-Harassment & Non-Discrimination Policy

    Fluffy Butts Rescue, Inc. is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for adopters, volunteers, fosters, and the public. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for:

    •  Harassment or discrimination of any kind, including sexual harassment or abusivelanguage.
    •  Inappropriate behavior toward volunteers, foster families, or staff during the adoptionprocess.

    If any such behavior is reported, the foster process may be paused or denied.
