Please complete every section honestly and thoroughly. Approval is not guaranteed, and Fluffy Butts Rescue reserves the right to decline any application.

    If you are not close to any of the above mentioned clinics, please let us know and we will try to partner with a clinic close to you.
  • Fluffy Butts Rescue Foster Agreement

    This Foster Agreement ("Agreement") is entered into by and between Fluffy Butts Rescue, Inc. ("Rescue") and the undersigned volunteer ("Foster") for the purpose of fostering one or more animals in the care of the Rescue.

    1. Foster Responsibilities

    A. The Foster agrees to provide safe, humane, and loving temporary care for the animal(s) placed in their care, including food, water, shelter, and companionship.

    B. The Foster agrees to comply with all guidelines and protocols provided by the Rescue, including decompression periods, behavior management, and veterinary protocols.

    C. The Foster agrees not to transfer, adopt out, or rehome the foster animal without written approval from the Rescue.

    D. The Foster agrees to notify the Rescue immediately of any significant changes in behavior health or environment

  • 2. Legal Ownership

    All animals remain the sole property of Fluffy Butts Rescue, Inc. The Foster has no legal ownership or rights to the animal unless and until a formal adoption is completed and executed in writing.

  • 3. Hold Harmless and Release of Liability

     The Foster understands that animals may be unpredictable and may cause injury or damage. The Foster agrees to hold harmless and release Fluffy Butts Rescue, Inc., its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, and agents from any and all liability, claims, or damages arising out of or in connection with fostering, including but not limited to injury to persons, pets, or property.

    The Foster acknowledges that they are fostering at their own risk and assume full responsibility for incidents that may occur while the animal is in their care.

    4. Foster-to-Adopt and Adoption Trials

    Fluffy Butts Rescue, Inc. does not conduct "foster-to-adopt" or "trial adoptions." All foster placements are considered temporary, and any intent to adopt must be formally communicated through the standard adoption process and approved in writing.

    5. Termination and Return of Animal

    The Foster agrees to return the animal to the Rescue upon request or if they are no longer able to provide care.

    If the Foster initiates termination, they agree to continue housing the animal until a replacement foster is secured, unless it is unsafe to do so.

    Fosters may not abandon the animal, relinquish it to a shelter, or transfer care to any other party without written approval.

  • 6. Emergency Protocols

    In the event of an emergency (illness, injury, or behavioral incident), the Foster agrees to contact the Rescue immediately and follow all instructions provided.

    Emergency veterinary care must be approved by the Rescue unless it is life-threatening and immediate care is required.

  • 7. Anti-Harassment & Non-Discrimination Policy

    Fluffy Butts Rescue, Inc. is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for adopters, volunteers, fosters, and the public. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for:

    •  Harassment or discrimination of any kind, including sexual harassment or abusivelanguage.
    •  Inappropriate behavior toward volunteers, foster families, or staff during the adoptionprocess.

    If any such behavior is reported, the foster process may be paused or denied.

  • Foster Terms and Acknowledgements

  • Housing Verification: I consent to Fluffy Butts Rescue verifying pet-related policies with my landlord or HOA if applicable.*
  • Home Visit: I agree to a potential home visit or virtual tour as part of the application process*
  • Financial Responsibility: I attest that Fluffy Butts Rescue is responsible for all expenses (Food, Vet/health care, toys etc.) and any thing I purchase or pay for must be submitted in writing for the Rescue before receiving compensation or a Donation Receipt.*
  • Pet Health: I understand that some rescue animals may have ongoing health issues such as seizures. I am willing to foster a rescue with such health issues and will report any concerns or activities to the Rescue immediately. If you have concerns or do not feel ready to foster a medical rescue please select other.*
  • Spay/Neuter: I understand that Fluffy Butts Rescue will spay/neuter all rescues that come in and there is a chance that the rescue I foster will still be intact. I also agree to transport the rescue to and from the appointed Spay/Neuter location on the date given by the Rescue*
  • Prohibited ActivitiesThe Foster agrees that the foster dog shall not:Visit dog parks, off-leash hiking trails, or other uncontrolled environments.Be boarded at a facility or placed in another home without written approval from Fluffy Butts Rescue.Be used for breeding under any circumstances. If the foster dog is intact, the Foster must prevent all contact with intact animals of the opposite sex.*
  • I understand and agree to transport the foster to and from any veterinary appointments, adoption events, and potential adaptor's for meet and greets. If I am unable to, I will contact the Rescue immediately.*
  • The foster cannot authorize elective or non-emergency veterinary procedures without written approval.In life-threatening emergencies, they must go to the nearest vet and notify the rescue immediately.*
  • Behavioral Disclosure & Updates – Require the foster to:Notify the rescue of changes in behavior within 24 hours and Agree to follow the rescue’s behavior management plan.*
  • Return of Rescue Property: The Foster acknowledges that any supplies, equipment, or materials provided by Fluffy Butts Rescue — including, but not limited to, crates, leashes, collars, harnesses, bowls, and bedding — remain the property of Fluffy Butts Rescue. All such items must be returned in good condition (normal wear and tear excepted) upon request or when the foster placement ends.*
  • Containment & Safety: The Foster agrees to keep the foster dog safely confined indoors when unsupervised and to provide secure, humane containment outdoors (fenced yard, tie-out, or leash). The foster dog shall not be left unattended outdoors in an unfenced area. The Foster shall use a leash for all off-property outings unless otherwise approved in writing by Fluffy Butts Rescue. The Foster is responsible for preventing escapes and ensuring the dog’s safety during transport.*
  • Humane Treatment & TrainingThe Foster agrees to treat the foster dog(s) with kindness and respect at all times. Physical punishment, neglect, or any form of abuse — including but not limited to hitting, kicking, or causing harm — is strictly prohibited.Fluffy Butts Rescue will provide resources, guidance, and/or access to positive reinforcement–based training to support the dog’s adjustment and well-being.Any confirmed incident of abuse, neglect, or harm will result in the immediate termination of this foster agreement, the removal of the dog from the foster’s care, and the notification of appropriate legal authorities.*
  • Incident Reporting & LiabilityThe Foster agrees to immediately notify Fluffy Butts Rescue of any incident involving the foster dog(s) that results in injury to a person, another animal, or property. This includes, but is not limited to, bites, scratches, attacks, or aggressive behavior.The Foster must contact Fluffy Butts Rescue within 2 hours of the incident (or as soon as safely possible) and provide full details, including the circumstances, individuals or animals involved, and any resulting injuries or damages. Photographs, veterinary reports, or medical documentation may be required.The Foster shall not surrender the foster dog to animal control, another rescue, or any third party without explicit written consent from Fluffy Butts Rescue. In the event of a serious injury or public safety concern, Fluffy Butts Rescue reserves the right to remove the dog from the foster home immediately.The Foster understands and accepts that Fluffy Butts Rescue cannot be held liable for injuries, damages, or losses caused by the foster dog while in the Foster’s care, and agrees to assume full responsibility for the safety of all people and animals in their household and in contact with the foster dog.*
  • Photo and Media Release:The Foster grants Fluffy Butts Rescue, Inc. permission to use photographs, videos, or likenesses of the foster dog — including images taken by the Foster and shared with the Rescue — for use in adoption listings, marketing materials, social media, and other promotional purposes, without expectation of compensation.*
  • True Information: I certify that the information provided in this application is true and complete to the best of my knowledge. I understand that false or omitted information may disqualify my application and/or result in nullification of an adoption.*
  • Hold Harmless and Release of Liability: The Foster understands that animals may be unpredictable and may cause injury or damage. The Foster agrees to hold harmless and release Fluffy Butts Rescue, Inc., its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, and agents from any and all liability, claims, or damages arising out of or in connection with fostering, including but not limited to injury to persons, pets, or property. The Foster acknowledges that they are fostering at their own risk and assume full responsibility for incidents that may occur while the animal is in their care.*
