  • Completion of this agreement does NOT guarantee that you will be approved for the adoption of this pet. Milo’s Dog Rescue of South Florida, is dedicated to placing our furry friends in the best homes possible. Therefore, we may decide to take more than one “pre-adopt” on any of our animals and will contact references that you have provided to ensure that we make the best decision for both the potential adopting individual/family and the pet. We appreciate your patience while we make our decision. After all, this decision will be one that will last for the lifetime of your pet!

  • Do you agree to donate the appropriate adoption fee for this pet? Pet adoption fees are $500 - $800. While this does not cover the full medical expenses paid by the rescue, this is the amount agreed to as a fair donation.*
  • You understand that you are applying to adopt an animal whose medical history is unknown before it entered the rescue. We address all known medical issues when the animal comes into the rescue, but we cannot predict any future medical problems. You agree that, as the animal's legal owner, all future veterinary costs are your sole responsibility from the date of adoption forward.*
  • The average expense for a dog or cat is $200 - $2,000 in food and veterinary costs per year. Do you agree to make this financial commitment to this pet?*
  • Do you agree to seek prompt and quality veterinary for this pet as soon as the need arises?*
  • The average dog's lifespan is 10-15 years. The average cat's lifespan is 13-20 years. Do you agree to make a commitment to this animal and to be its guardian and caretaker for the rest of its life?*
  • The past medical and behavioral history of a rescue pet is not known, although we make every effort to screen and vet our animals. Once the animal has been adopted by his/her new owner and left our custody, you agree that Milo's Dog Rescue of South Florida, Inc. is released from ownership and all liability.*
  • If for ANY REASON, you are unable to care for your adopted animal, you agree to notify Milo’s Dog Rescue of South Florida as soon as possible. We will take the animal back only if our rescue is not at a maximum capacity and we have a foster care for the animal. You agree NOT to euthanize the animal. You agree the adoption fee is non-refundable. In case you decide to surrender the animal back to Milo's Dog Rescue of South Florida, you agree to pay an additional fee of $150 to help provide for the animal while back in our care*
