Selection Process: The jurors will select the work for the exhibition based on adherence to the theme, originality, quality of work, and technical skill.
Notification to artists: All artists will be notified, regardless of whether they are chosen or not, via email by January 5, 2026.
Accepted artwork: All pieces of work must be equipped to hang on the wall.
Delivery: Selected artists may drop your work off at the zoo during zoo hours (9:30-4:00) from Monday, January 5th to Friday, February 27th. Yes, you can mail your art to the Zoo. If you choose to do so, please email Jasmine at Jasmine.Phoenix@brzoo.org.
Retrieval: If the artist has not retrieved their artwork by the close of business on Friday, April 17th, the artwork will become the property of BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo. BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo will not mail any artwork to the artist. All artwork must be picked up at the Zoo.
Timeline: The artwork will be on exhibit from March 9 to April 11th in the Zoo’s artium in the new building. On April 11, there will be a breakfast reception for artists and their guests, by RSVP only. The last day of the gallery will be April 11. On April 13th, we will begin taking down the art.
