Overview
Thank you for your interest in California Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom’s (CFAITC) grant program. Literacy for Life Grants are designed to initiate new projects or expand existing projects that promote agricultural literacy. $750 grants are provided to California educators to support the integration of agriculture into regular classroom instruction.
Instructions
I. Grant Guidelines
- Literacy for Life Grants are available to certified California K-12 teachers.
- The proposed grant project must be completed within the 2025-2026 school year.
- Grant applications must be submitted online by October 4, 2025.
- A final report must be submitted by May 1, 2026 to CFAITC.
- Please share your project with administration and/or staff at your school and inform fellow teachers of resources that CFAITC provides.
- Grant recipients will be announced online November 1, 2025.
- Selected educators will receive funding in January 2026.
II. Funding
- The Literacy for Life Grants will be awarded to 25 educators with a maximum of $750 each. A minimum of two will be provided to agricultural educators.
- One applicant may be selected to receive an additional $1,000 award and be named the foundation's "Outstanding Educator of the Year."
- To be considered for the "Outstanding Educator of the Year" award, you must answer the last question in this application.
- The chosen "Outstanding Educator of the Year" will attend and/or be featured at multiple events throughout the year such as, the 2026 National Ag in the Classroom Conference, 2026 California AITC Conference, and our National Ag Week Event.
