    Friendship Lab is a therapeutic social group that meets Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:30 AM–12:00 PM, providing emotional regulation, social skills, communication, problem-solving, and guided peer play in small groups. The program combines structured activities and therapeutic support to promote positive peer connections. You will be expected to commit to our program for three months.
  • 1. Program Overview

    Friendship Lab is a therapeutic social group that meets Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:30 AM–12:00 PM, providing emotional regulation, social skills, communication, problem-solving, and guided peer play in small groups. The program combines structured activities and therapeutic support to promote positive peer connections. You will be expected to commit to our program for three months.


    2. Eligibility & Enrollment


    Participants must be covered by Medicaid unless otherwise approved for a non-Medicaid opening.
    All Medicaid participants must have prior authorizations approved before starting services. ACTION, Inc will ensure this for you and maintain contact surrounding this.
    Non-Medicaid spaces are limited, but will remain free of charge for you. 

    You are agreeing to therapy, case management, and peer support services by enrolling in this program. 


    3. Attendance Policy


    Consistent attendance is necessary for progress and to maintain group placement.
    Please notify staff as soon as possible if a participant will be absent.
    Commitment to attending both days per week is preferred for best results. Three missed classes will result in the forfeiture of your spot in the program. You will be able to return to the waitlist after this occurance and readmission will be considered.

    4. Expectations for Participants


    Engage respectfully with peers and staff.
    Follow program rules, routines, and directions from staff.
    Participate in group activities to the best of their ability.
    Refrain from disruptive or unsafe behavior.

    5. Parent/Guardian Responsibilities


    Ensure timely arrival and pick-up.
    Support your child in using skills learned in Friendship Lab at home and in the community.
    Maintain open communication with program staff regarding progress, concerns, or changes in the child’s needs.
    Attend scheduled parent meetings or check-ins as requested.

    Provide any necessary medications to the child before arrival, as Friendship Lab staff do not dispense or administer medications.

    6. Confidentiality


    ACTION, Inc. staff maintain confidentiality regarding participant information in accordance with HIPAA and applicable laws.
    Group sessions involve multiple participants; while staff model and encourage privacy, we cannot control what other participants share outside of group.

    7. Safety & Behavior


    Aggressive, threatening, or unsafe behavior may result in immediate removal from the group for that session.
    Repeated unsafe incidents will require a meeting with parents/guardians to determine the best course of action.

    8. Food & Beverages


    Daily snacks and drinks are provided during program hours.
    Meals are not provided; please ensure your child eats prior to attending.
