  • Provisional School status is suitable for schools which are in the development phase and not yet open. The process includes quality assurance across the following areas: 

    1. Nature of the school: including ethos and values and admissions policy
    2. Staffing: including recruitment processes and training, and safer recruitment practices
    3. Students and Curriculum: including planned curriculum and support for EAL and AEN students
    4. Facilities: including safety compliance and provision for students with physical disabilities
    5. Governance and Steering: including vision, school development plan, planned governance structure and school policies

  • The Two-Part Accreditation process involves two visits: a Compliance Visit is followed by an Accreditation Visit, as part of an ongoing process working with a Lead Improvement Partner (LIP).

    COBIS Accreditation includes quality assurance across all COBIS Standards (1-10):

    Safeguarding and Safer Recruitment, Student Welfare, Facilities, Governance, Educational Ethos and Values, Boarding (where applicable), Learning & Teaching, Leadership, Communication and Extra-Curricular, Enrichment and Engagement.

     Standards 1-5 (or 6 for Boarding Schools) are covered in the (part 1) Compliance Visit and 7-10 in the (part 2) Accreditation Visit in the Two-Part Accreditation process.

  • Pricing for COBIS Accreditation and Compliance is calculated based on the number of sections/phases a school has. 

    If your school has one section/phase (i.e. EYFS only, Primary only or Secondary only), you will be charged the base fee (plus boarding if applicable). If your school has more than one section/phase (i.e. Primary through to Secondary, or EYFS through to sixth form), you will be charged the base fee plus a fee for the additional section/phase. This is calculated below.
