    The Symposium will take place on October 27–29, 2025, at the Superior Inn Hotel and Conference Centre in Thunder Bay, Ontario.

    Hosted by the Ministry of Emergency Preparedness and Response, this gathering is dedicated to supporting First Nations in building stronger emergency plans and working together to address emergencies across Ontario. Join us for a meeting of the minds to build relationships, share experiences, and explore practical ways communities can support each other before, during, and after crises. With inspiring speakers, hands-on workshops, and meaningful networking opportunities, we’ll focus on making supports more consistent and effective while learning from recent challenges like floods and fires.

    This form is for individual applications only. To register multiple people, please complete a separate form for each participant.

  • Please note: This form is an application to attend the event, not a confirmed registration. Due to limited spots, priority will be given to individuals working in the emergency management field (e.g., Emergency Management Coordinators).

    Applications will be reviewed by the Ministry of Emergency Preparedness and Response, and you will receive a follow-up within 10 business days confirming whether your request has been approved or placed on the waitlist.

  • The Ministry of Emergency Preparedness and Response will cover the accommodation expenses at the hotel listed above, for delegates attending as representatives of an Indigenous community. We have reserved a limited block of rooms at the Superior Inn Hotel and Conference Centre (event venue) for the nights of October 26th (arrival) through October 30h (departure).
