2025 Fall Intake Logo
  • Fall 2025

  • This question is for the student coming in for their consultation and not for the consultant.  Please do not fill out "What type of student are you?" if you are the consultant.  Please leave the original answer.

  • Intake

  • Sorry, our policy prevents us from seeing students with projects due in less than two hours. We want there to be enough time to go through your paper in a relaxed, beneficial way. Please schedule your next appointment at least two hours before your assignment is due. If your project is NOT due in less than two hours, change your answer to this question.

  • We typically recommend no more than 3 visits for short papers (8 pages or less). This limit helps us ensure that that you retain ownership--that the the language and ideas in the paper are your own. If you wish to make more than 3 appointments for the same paper, come prepared to explain what you have learned in your previous appointments, how you've revised your paper, and what you still want feedback on. We can hold the consultation as long as it remains productive and instructive.

  • Student Info

  • You are welcome to come to the UWC with a group writing assignment. However, all authors must be present to work on each section. If you divided up the work for the project and each wrote independently, you can come in alone and work on only your section. If the entire paper was written collaboratively, all the writers need to be there to work on any part of the paper.

  • Class Information

  • If you're unsure of your course number, please login to Canvas.

  • After your visit, you will receive a brief summary of your appointment. If requested, we can forward this note.

  • Please provide us with the information necessary to contact your professor. If you don't know their email, try looking in the syllabus on Canvas or just Google their name with "utexas" in the search (ex "utexas John Smith"), which will pull up the UT directory. You can search the directory directly at https://directory.utexas.edu/.

  • Please submit your form!

This consultation will be conducted either in person or online through Zoom. If this consultation is in-person, please check in with the front desk to let them know you have arrived.  Your consultant will be with you shortly.

  • Comments for the admin team?

  • If questions or problems arose for you during your session, please let us know. If your session gave you concerns about possible Title IX violations or your consultee's mental health, you should certainly share them here. But you should also feel free to share the more mundane problems that can arise, such as a student's confusion over our NDNE approach. Feel free to share the positive stuff too—we love to hear when things go well.
