Daily volunteers: Positions requiring training and USA Swimming Registrations: These positions will include reimbursement credit of USA Swimming registration fees, USA background check, and swim meet fees for up to 1 child.
Asst. Coach volunteers: Work under the supervision of the facility coach helping children with stroke techniques, starts and turns. Asst. coaches can be practicing coaches or meet coaches who help in the organization of the swimmers. Asst. Coach volunteering counts towards your parents’ volunteer responsibilities and meet fees being reimbursed for up to 1 child.
Clothing/ Equipment manager volunteers: Distribution, inventory and quality control of NSSC attire and equipment. 1-2 volunteers are needed at each pool. Schedule to be agreed to by head coach. Clothing/ Equipment volunteering counts towards your parent volunteer responsibilities and meet fees being reimbursed fees for up to 1 child.
Swim Meet Volunteers: Positions requiring training: These positions will include reimbursement of USA Swimming registration fees, USA background check, and swim meet fees for up to 1 child. Travel reimbursement for New England Championship meets available based on fulfilling teamwork requirements at meet. Head Coach approval needed prior too.
Stroke and Turn Official: Enforce the rules of USA Swimming. Training and internship required.Check in 30 minutes prior to the session start.
Junior Official: For ages 16-18 years. Enforce the rules of USA Swimming. Training and internship required. Check in 30 minutes prior to the session start.
Timing Table System: Operate the timing system during swim meet. Training and internship required. Check in 15 minutes prior to the session starts.
Swim Meet Volunteers: Positions requiring attendance while your child competes. There are no reimbursements for these positions, but we need 1 parent/ guardian to help when their child is in attendance:
Head Timer: Organize activities related to timing and run the pre- session timer’s meeting. Act as on-deck intermediary between officials and lane timers, as needed.
Lane Timers: Two per lane on deck throughout session. Time and record for each heat in all events in session. Check in 15 minutes prior to the session starts.
Back-Up Timers: Start watch(es) at event start. Swap watches with lane timer in the event they fail to start their watch. Check in 15 minutes prior to the session starts.
Meet Runner: Collect and collate event sheets once they are complete and deliver them to timing table. Post event results, as needed. Other miscellaneous jobs on-deck, as needed. Check in 15 minutes prior to the session starts.
Hospitality: Help set up and oversee the food and drinks that are ordered for the coaches and officials. Bring coaches and officials with water on deck, as needed. Check in 30 minutes prior to the session starts.
Meet Marshall: Make sure all facility rules are followed. Responsible for the safety of all at the pool. Check in 30 minutes prior to the session starts.
Meet Photographer: Get photos/videos from all parts of the meet (warm up, starts, swims, finishes, all strokes, all ages, etc). Additional information to come.
