The National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) was established on May 10, 1930 and is currently comprised of nine international Greek letter sororities and fraternities (D9): Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc., Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. NPHC promotes interaction through forums, meetings and other mediums for the exchange of information and engages in cooperative programming and initiatives through various activities and functions.
A local NPHC was chartered in Columbia, SC on June 8, 1960. The member organizations have a strong focus on community service and uplift.
For that reason, we awarding college scholarships to high school seniors in Richland, Lexington, Fairfield or Newberry County School Districts and collegiate scholarships to D9 collegiate members from Allen University, Benedict College, Columbia College, Morris College, Newberry College, University of South Carolina (Columbia, SC), or Voorhees University.
