Badgerland Online Cookie Marketing Guidelines:
- Absolutely no online cookie transactions may occur other than through the Digital Cookie site.
- Families (and Girl Scouts 13 and older, with parental permission), may promote their Cookie Program on their personal social networking sites.
- Parents can promote their child’s Cookie Program on their personal social sites, but the Girl Scout must complete the sale. Example post: “My child is selling Girl Scout Cookies. Contact me if you are interested.” The parent would then serve as the conduit for interested family and friends with the Girl Scout completing the sale.
- Girl Scouts using online sites to market their cookie sale must have parent/guardian permission to do so, and a Girl Scout must never give identifying information about themselves on the Internet. Last names, addresses, troop numbers, schools, etc. should never be published on the Internet.
- If my Girl Scout will be utilizing the Internet during their cookie sale program, my Girl Scout and I have completed the Girl Scout Internet Safety Pledge, found on the Girl Scouts website.
- Badgerland defers to guardians to make the best and safest online marketing choices for their child.
