Who We Are:
Urban Roots is farming to grow young minds and cultivate tomorrow’s leaders. Our farms are learning spaces where young people can nurture their leadership skills, all while supporting their community by providing fresh produce for their neighbors.
What is the Community Ambassadors Program?
Community Ambassadors is a program offered by Urban Roots aimed to bring community members of all ages to our farms to be a part of the work that we do. This program is a volunteer-based program rooted in reciprocity that gives you the opportunity to volunteer with us weekly. This program is all skill levels, whether you have a new found interest in gardening or have years of knowledge to offer, there’s a place out on the farm for you!

Community Ambassador Requirements:
No season is complete without the effort, excitement, passion, and magic that Community Ambassadors bring to Urban Roots! The work that we do at Urban Roots, whether it is working alongside our youth in programs or alongside the vegetables in the fields, asks a lot of us, because of this we have a number of requirements that we ask of Community Ambassadors.
- We ask that Community Ambassadors commit to an entire season starting September 17th through January 29, 2026.
- Complete 4 hours a week
- Regular Community Ambassador shifts will be:
- Wednesdays 8-12pm
- Thursdays 8-12pm
- Note: Additional volunteer opportunities will be offered throughout the season, on and off the farm. These may be offered on different days and times of the week.
- As a Community Ambassador you are a part of the Urban Roots community, that means that we ask you to respect our community guidelines and standards
If you are unable to commit to regularly volunteering as a Community Ambassador, we encourage you to sign up for our individual volunteer opportunities that are offered throughout the season!
