What is the Advanced Leadership Internship (ALI)?
The Advanced Leadership Internship is a yearlong program for Urban Roots alum to continuing growing as a youth leader within the community.
The ALI program comes with greater expectations and commitment. Alumni Interns will continue their personal growth and learning while also serving as ambassadors for Urban Roots, making community connections, and leading other youth and community members on the farm.
Alumni Leadership Interns continue to grow the through four different series in the internship: (1) a greater focus on volunteer days and leadership (2) culinary workshops (3) agricultural work (4) intermediate level food access workshops (5) community engagement and experiental learning trips.
Who is eligible?
The ALI program is open to any youth who has successfully completed the Summer Farm Program and is still in high school.
Youth who have participated in ALI before are invited to apply to be an Assistant Crew Lead (ACL). You can mark in your application if you are interested in being considered for an ACL position.
When is ALI?
The program will run from October 4th - April 25th, Saturdays 8am-2pm. Alumni interns are expected to commit to work the entire intership. Interns will be allowed abscences throughout the program in addition to having holiday breaks. Breaks are scheduled for Nov 29th, Dec 20th, 27th, Jan 3rd, March 14th, & 21st
Where is ALI?
ALI will take place on our South Farm located at 4711 Winnebago Ln. Austin, TX 78744. Note: This is a different location from where we hosted the summer program!
How much is the participation award for ALI?
Participants will receive a total award of $1,000 split into two payments. The first $500 award will be distributed on Dec 13th and the second on April 25th. ACLs will receive a total award of $1,100, also split into two payments.

Once you complete this application, we will reach out via email to you to confirm the interview time you selected. Zoom interviews will be held the week of Sept 8th in the evening, and decisions will be made by Sept 19th.
