  • By submitting this application, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions. If your application is successful, this form will form the basis of your transport volunteer contract with Out of the Woods Rescue Melbourne Ltd (OOTW).

    Safe vehicle use
    I confirm that I hold a valid driver's licence and will only transport animals using a registered, roadworthy and appropriately insured vehicle. I understand that OOTW’s insurance does not cover damage to my personal vehicle.

    Licence documentation
    I understand that if approved, I will be required to provide a copy of my current driver's licence for OOTW's records.

    Insurance cover
    I acknowledge that while transporting animals under OOTW direction, I am covered by OOTW's Voluntary Workers personal accident policy, and that OOTW holds Public Liability insurance for third-party claims. I understand this insurance applies only to authorised activities within Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.

    Animal safety
    I agree to transport animals in secure carriers or using approved restraints to ensure their safety during transit. Animals will never travel loose in the cabin or the tray of a ute.

    Communication
    I agree to join and remain active in OOTW's Transport Volunteer Messenger group (or nominated communication channel) to be notified of upcoming transport opportunities.

    Risk acknowledgement
    I understand that animals may behave unpredictably during transport and there is a risk of injury. OOTW will provide all available behavioural information, but I accept this inherent risk as part of volunteering.

    Decision-making authority
    I acknowledge that all animals transported remain the property of OOTW, and final decisions regarding veterinary care, foster placement or adoption are made by OOTW representatives.

    Approval not guaranteed
    I understand that submitting this application does not guarantee approval as a transport volunteer with OOTW. Each application is assessed based on suitability and the current needs of the rescue.

    Accuracy of information
    I confirm that all information provided in this application is true and complete to the best of my knowledge. I understand that providing false or misleading information may result in my application being declined or my volunteer role being terminated.
