  • Description

This post graduate 2 day course offers physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists an in-depth exploration of Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT) as an interdisciplinary framework for enhancing functional outcomes in infants and children with neuromotor impairments. Grounded in the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) model, the course emphasizes clinical reasoning, collaborative practice, and hands-on application of contemporary NDT principles.

Participants will refine their ability to observe, analyze, and interpret movement and posture across developmental stages, identify key impairments, and design individualized, task-specific interventions with lecture and hands-on labs.

    OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE:

    • Apply contemporary NDT concepts within the scope of PT, OT, and SLP practice using the ICF model.
    • Observe, analyze, and interpret posture and movement patterns across developmental stages, identifying key impairments that impact activity and participation.
    • Integrate principles of dynamic systems theory, motor control, motor learning, and motor development into individualized intervention plans.
    • Implement developmentally appropriate, task-specific strategies and therapeutic handling to support postural alignment, movement transitions, communication, feeding, play, and other functional goals.
    •  Collaborate across disciplines to enhance motor and communication outcomes through shared understanding of movement analysis
