  • Information about your theory roundtable proposal

  • Information about your creative proposal

  • Please give a brief description of your proposed performance or other creative presentation here. Is this a selection from a work in progress or a recently published work, or something else? What genre categories best describe your work? You may change or finalize your reading selection later -- the information you provide here will simply help us pair you with other authors during your session.

Our conference is open to a variety of different creative sessions. For example, you might offer a narrated slideshow of your own original art or photography, you might present a short monologue or dramatic scene, or you might share an original musical composition.

Presentations must be limited to 20 minutes, and your offering will be part of a longer session featuring other artists with a moderated discussion to follow.

  • Division and Crosslisting

  • Which division do you want to receive your proposal?

For papers that combine various media (e.g. a comparative reading of the originals and adaptations of Atwood’s Handmaid’s Tale etc.) or genres (e.g. something discussing an sf novel and a fantasy novel) or areas (e.g. paper on texts one of which is Anglophone and the other international), you can choose which division you would rather present in.

An explanation of divisions can be found at: https://iaftfita.wildapricot.org/Division-Heads

DHs may choose to redirect submissions to other divisions to form joint sessions/panels.

  • Crosslist your proposal as BIPOC interest

If your proposal is of BIPOC interest, you may crosslist it as BIPOC. You may also request to present in the Counter Space. If you are presenting in the Counter Space, you may designate your presentation as a Brave Space conversation. All these designations will be routed to the Counter Space Scheduler’s attention.

Note: Brave Space is a specific type of conversation intended to regulate and dignify an exchange of vulnerable questions and sensitive answers about racial bias and the pain of transforming the traditions of privilege into shared opportunities, among other topics that have to do with race and ethnicity in historically racially colonized spaces and contexts.
