GENERAL INFORMATION:
POTENTIAL RECIPIENTS: Georgia Association Executives, and Board Staff Specialists.*
PRIMARY CONSIDERATION: Financial Need
LIMITATIONS/TOTAL FUNDS AVAILABLE: Scholarships are for 100% of basic early bird registration fees and 50 % of the room fees (number of nights to be reimbursed is based on the meeting schedule and will be determined by the Selection Committee) for the GAR AE Regional Conference or the Annual NAR AE Institute, and are limited to one person per calendar year.
SELECTION COMMITTEE: The Selection Committee will consist of five (5) members as follows: The present Vice Chairman of the GAR AEC will serve as Chairman, the current GAR AEC Chairman, and three AEs at-large selected annually by the appropriate GAR AEC chairman. If anyone of the above intends to submit a scholarship request, they should notify the Chairman and will not be eligible to serve.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS: It is imperative that this application form be properly completed and signed by the applicant and association/board president. Applicant must be employed by the board at least one (1) full year prior to submitting application.
DISBURSEMENT REQUIREMENTS: Approved scholarships will be awarded only if the applicant submits a copy of his/her registration and room fee receipts within ninety (90) days after completion of the seminar. Applicants are only eligible to receive one scholarship from the GAR Scholarship Foundation (either the Tommie Jackson Scholarship or a general scholarship) for AEI in a single calendar year.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: Properly completed applications MUST BE RECEIVED no later than
September 1, 2025.
* If no Association Executive applies or qualifies, then scholarship funds will be made available to Board Staff Specialists. Such application must be accompanied by a written recommendation from the Board Association Executive, outlining the staff specialist’s responsibilities, and why attendance at the meeting would be beneficial to the Association. An AE cannot recommend their own staff specialist at the same time they are submitting an application.
