By booking services with Caliente Innovations dba CJ’s Dogventures (“Company,” “Walker,” or “Service Provider”), you (“Client” or “Owner”) agree to the following terms and conditions:
1. Services Provided
The Company agrees to provide dog walking and related pet care services as requested and scheduled by the Client.
Services will be carried out in a professional, caring, and responsible manner.
2. Owner Responsibilities
I confirm that I am the legal owner or authorized guardian of the dog(s).
I agree to provide accurate and up-to-date information regarding my dog(s)’ health, behavior, allergies, and any special needs.
I will ensure my dog(s) is licensed (where required) and up to date on vaccinations, including rabies and distemper/parvo.
3. Health & Safety
I will inform the Company of any medical conditions, medications, allergies, or behavioral issues (e.g., aggression, fear triggers, history of biting).
The Company reserves the right to refuse service if a dog poses a danger to the walker, themselves, other people, or animals.
In case of emergency, the Company will make reasonable efforts to contact me. If unreachable, I authorize the Company to seek veterinary care at my expense.
4. Leashes & Equipment
All dogs must have properly fitted collars/harnesses and identification tags.
I will provide safe and reliable equipment (no damaged leashes, faulty harnesses, etc.).
The Company is not liable for damage caused by faulty equipment provided by me.
5. Off-Leash Policy
For the safety of all dogs, the public, and the walker, off-leash walking is not offered under any circumstances. All dogs must remain leashed at all times while in our care, including during walks, transfers, and any outdoor activity.
Clients acknowledge and agree that requests for off-leash walking will not be accommodated, regardless of a dog’s training, recall ability, or prior off-leash experience. Failure to comply with this policy may result in immediate termination of services.
6. Walk Time & Included Care Policy
All walk durations are inclusive of total service time, not solely time spent actively walking. This includes, but is not limited to: pickup and drop-off, leashing and unleashing, travel time, toileting, watering, feeding (if requested), crating or uncrating, towel drying, basic cleanup, and any other care provided during the visit.
For example: A 1-hour walk/service window represents the total time allocated to your dog, from arrival to departure. Additional care or requests must be completed within the scheduled time window and may reduce active walking time. Requests requiring extra time beyond the booked service may require an upgraded service or additional fee.
7. Home Access & Security
For any residence located in a secured building (including but not limited to condos and apartments), the Client must provide a physical entry key and/or building fob prior to the start of services.
We are unable to accept or continue service for clients in secured buildings without physical access credentials.
Access methods such as phone-based entry, concierge assistance, intercom access, or waiting for third-party entry are not permitted and will not be used, as they are unreliable and take valuable time away from scheduled services. All access and entry time is included within the booked service window and may reduce active walk time.
The Company will take reasonable care to secure the residence upon entry and exit but cannot be held liable for pre-existing damage, faulty locks, or malfunctioning access systems. Failure to provide required access may result in cancellation or termination of services without refund.
8. Liability & Assumption of Risk
I understand that dog walking involves inherent risks, including accidents, escapes, injury, illness, or interaction with other animals.
I release and hold harmless Caliente Innovations dba CJ’s Dogventures, its owners, employees, and contractors from liability for any injury, loss, or damage to my dog(s) or property, except in cases of gross negligence or intentional misconduct.
I remain responsible for any damage or injury caused by my dog(s) to property, people, or other animals.
9. Payment & Cancellation
Payment for services is due as agreed upon at the time of booking.
Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged.
Repeated last-minute cancellations may result in termination of services.
10. Weather Policy
Walks will take place in most weather conditions. However, in extreme heat, cold, heavy rain, or unsafe conditions, the Company may shorten or adjust walks for the safety of the dog(s) and walker. Full payment for the scheduled time will still be required.
11. Emergency Contact
I will provide an emergency contact who can make decisions if I am unreachable.
12. Holidays, Availability & Vacation Policy
The Company is closed on all statutory holidays, unless otherwise posted or agreed to in advance. Walks requested on statutory holidays are considered on a case-by-case basis only and, if approved, will be billed at 1.5x the standard walk rate.
For example, walks scheduled on Good Friday or Easter Monday may be subject to holiday pricing at 1.5x the regular rate.
We always strive to be available and provide consistent care for your dogs; however, we also require time to rest and recharge. Any planned vacations will be communicated with as much advance notice as possible.
Please note that there are service blackout periods around major holidays, including but not limited to December 23 through January 2. Limited walks may still be offered during these periods on a case-by-case basis only and, if approved, will be billed at 2x the standard walk rate.
13. Termination of Services
Either party may terminate this agreement with written notice.
The Company reserves the right to immediately terminate services if a dog is aggressive, unsafe, or if I violate these terms.
14. Payment & Cancellation
Payment for services is due prior to each scheduled walk.
Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance. If proper notice is not provided, full payment for the scheduled service will still be required.
Repeated last-minute cancellations may result in termination of services.
15. Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia.
By signing below, I confirm that I have read, understood, and agree to the above Terms and Conditions.
