  • Welcome! Use this application to request a one-time rental of the Shed 5 Kitchen at Detroit’s Eastern Market for cooking classes, demonstrations, private events, or creative projects. This form is NOT for full-time or ongoing kitchen tenancy; applications for full-time tenants are currently closed.

    Submitting this application does not guarantee your rental. Applications are reviewed for compliance with all requirements and kitchen availability. If approved, you’ll receive instructions to complete scheduling, document upload, and payment through Food Corridor. Your booking is confirmed only after full approval and payment.   • Kitchen Rental Pricing & Requirements

  • Rentals are for the entire kitchen in 4-hour blocks. $500/4-hour block during peak hours. Peak hours: Thursday–Sunday 8am–8pm; $300/4-hour block during off-peak hours. The kitchen is not available for one-time rentals on Saturdays. Do you wish to continue?
  • Required documents to rent the Shed 5 Kitchen are as follows: 1. Current ServSafe Food Safety Manager certificate (or equivalent) 2. Valid general liability insurance certificate 3. Food service license (MDARD, Wayne County, or City of Detroit). An additional temporary food license may be required depending on the nature of the event.   • The Shed 5 Kitchen does not provide any additional smallwares, supplies, or equipment outside of the large kitchen equipment (6-burner stove, flat-top, grill, (2) double convection ovens, steamer, soup kettle, counter top mixer) available in the kitchen at all times. Will you provide your own smallwares, supplies, and any additional equipment needed?
