The AECT Foundation is inviting international AECT members, who are citizens living and working in a low-income nation, to enter a financial assistance lottery for the 2026 AECT convention in Chicago, IL. In addition, members of such countries who are students at a college/university in the United States may also apply. You must have an AECT student membership that has been approved through the verification process. The reimbursement amount will be $250, issued back to the credit card used to register for the convention.
The AECT Foundation Board has decided to answer the call for financial assistance. To determine eligibility, please view the International Monetary Fund’s website at https://www.imf.org/external/datamapper/NGDPDPC@WEO/OEMDC/ADVEC/WEOWORLD for information on specific countries. If you meet the aforementioned criteria and the GDP per capita index for your nation is 20 thousand US dollars or less, you may enter the lottery.
Full-time students must register for the convention using the student discounted rate. Your entry must be received by 23:59 US Eastern Daylight Time, August 17, 2026.
The Foundation’s resources may not be sufficient to support all eligible members. The Foundation, therefore, will utilize a lottery selection system, if needed. Grantees will be selected randomly.
Each grantee will receive the $250 reimbursement after the convention.
Please note: members who volunteer at the convention and receive the discounted registration fee rate for volunteers are not eligible to also receive this $250 reimbursement. You will need to select your preferred reimbursement option.
