Traces of Memory (迹忆) is Brandon Lu’s debut photo book.
The book is a collection of 60 color and black & white photographs made in China across three trips, from 2006 to 2025. Most are from his most recent return to China earlier this year, while six from childhood are spread across the book. Through quiet towns, mega-cities, and spaces in between, these traces of memory reflect on how our roots, our surroundings, and our hopes shape us.
The First Edition is limited to 100 copies, each hand-stamped with the artist’s Chinese seal. Designed, printed, and assembled locally in New York City.
