  • Image field 39
  • Picture frames should be strung with D-rings as shown in the diagram.  Those with a single, centre hook or brackets cannot be hung and will not be accepted.  The back of glazed frames should be sealed with framers tape.  Unframed Block canvasses should be painted to, and around the edges.

  • The Art shop

Small items can be submitted for sale at the exhibition. Items suggested: cards (wrapped in cellophane), miniature paintings (framed or mounted), fabric items, miniature ceramics, jewellery etc. There is no fee, but 20% commission will be applied to sales. Please contact the exhibition secretary if you wish to use a display case.

You do not need to list shop items on the entry form but you should download the entry pro-forma, list your items and bring a copy to the hand in.   This is so that we can keep track of sales.  We suggest a copy should be kept and checked against your unsold items at the close of the exhibition.  Items should be clearly labelled with price, your artist ID code and stock number and packaged appropriately.

  • TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Submissions can only be accepted from current members of the LSA.

    IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT INSURANCE

One of the benefits of membership of the society is that it enjoys public liability insurance cover when you exhibit your 2D artwork in an exhibition organised by the society. However, individual items are not covered against theft or damage and need to be separately insured by the artist if required.

Please note: Unfortunately, we are no longer covered for 3D artwork larger than 24"/60cm. If you wish to exhibit large 3D work (which would be welcome), you will need to provide proof of public liability insurance arranged by yourself, and send a copy of such to the Exhibition Secretary with your entry form.

General Exhibition Rules and conditions of entry

The closing date for entries is Friday 17th April 2026

The general principle is that any artistic work is acceptable in any medium so long as it meets the following criteria:

    • It is of a size that can be accommodated in the space available.
    • It complies with all national and international copyright legislation.
    • It does not contain pornographic material.
    • It is the exhibitor's own original work. Artists  prints (relief, intaglio etc) are accepted and should be signed and numbered with the print run-e.g. 1/10, or artists' proof. Digital art work should be printed and framed for exhibition.  Reproductions of original work, e.g. Giclee prints, may be displayed in the browser or shop only.
    • It should not have been previously exhibited in an LSA exhibition, or be a copy of a previous artwork

Exhibits should be submitted unwrapped and clearly labelled on the back with the title of the work, price, artist's name and telephone number. Works not intended for sale should be clearly marked "NFS".   Picture frames must be fitted with 'D' rings and properly strung. Frames with a single centre hook are not accepted. Presentation, mounting, and framing MUST be of a high standard.

Artwork for the browser should be unframed, mounted, wrapped in clear film, and clearly labelled as above.  Canvasses cannot be accepted for the browser as they are too bulky.

Work for the Art Shop must be labelled with artist code, stock number and price. Submissions should be accompanied by a completed proforma which may be downloaded from the LSA website or obtained on request from the Exhibition Secretary.

Stewarding:  It is a condition of entry for main exhibitions that exhibitors will be called upon to act as stewards at least once during the exhibition. Another person may be nominated to steward in the exhibitor's place. Availability for stewarding should be indicated to the Exhibition Secretary at the time of entry.

Exhibits may only be removed at times previously notified on exhibition entry forms.  Unsold artwork must be collected at the time stated above. The Society cannot be held responsible for artwork not collected. Such work may be subject to a handling fee. Work not collected within 6 months of exhibition end may be disposed of.

Artwork sold during an exhibition will be subject to sales commission of 20% of the sale price. Payment for sales will be made within 30 days of the close of the exhibition.

All award winners receive a certificate.

If you have questions, or require exhibition entry forms other than by email, they are available at demonstration evenings or contact the Exhibition Secretary:
