Leadership Development Course Application
Participation in the leadership program is open to persons living or working in Jackson County. A maximum of 20 individuals will be selected to participate in the program. Selection will be based on the following criteria:
1. A strong interest and commitment to devote time to the program both in terms of attendance and class projects.
2. A demonstration of leadership skills and abilities on the job.
3. Financial and time commitment of individual, an employer or sponsoring organization.

Please check the session dates at the bottom of this application to ensure you can adhere to the attendance policy, which includes a mandatory overnight retreat. You are allowed to miss no more than two other sessions in order to qualify for graduation from the course.

One of the goals of New Vision Newport is to build a network of community leaders who can enhance their problem solving and other leadership abilities through shared perspectives and working together. In that view, please answer the following questions:

- To graduate from New Vision Newport, a participant is expected to attend most of the sessions including the mandatory opening retreat. If accepted into the New Vision Newport program, you or your employer or sponsor will be billed $350 per person for the tuition fee (payable prior to the first session), which covers all program costs. “I understand the purpose of the New Vision Newport program, and if I am selected, I will devote the time and resources necessary to complete the program. Furthermore, even though emergencies do arise, I understand if I have more than two absences I may be asked to withdraw from the program and no portion of the tuition shall be refunded. Furthermore, I accept that if I am unable to attend the overnight retreat that I will not be eligible to participate in the program. I understand the above commitment and agree to be bound by it in signing this application.”
