  • The Academy of Physicians in Clinical Research (APCR) seeks a diverse pool of applicants to serve on the Board of Trustees. For the 2025-2026 Board year, there are three (3) open member-at-large positions. Please apply if you are interested in furthering the mission of APCR to provide Advocacy, promote Career Growth, and encourage Education among physician clinical researchers. Positions on the Board offer a unique opportunity to serve APCR at the national level.   • Board Position Expectations

    In order to apply for a Board position, an applicant must be willing to fulfill the following Board expectations. A complete list of expectations for all Board positions along with selection criteria and role definitions are located on the website: https://apcrnet.org/about/election. 1) Maintain active APCR membership (i.e., current on dues).  2) Attend a New Member Board Orientation session to review the roles and responsibilities if elected, usually held at the first Board meeting right after the annual meeting. 3) Attend Board of Trustee meetings: face-to-face meetings the Friday morning and Sunday morning of the Annual Meeting and virtual meetings on the third Wednesday of the month in April and August from 8 to 10pm ET/5 to 7pm PT. 4) For Officer positions, attend monthly Executive Council meetings on the second Wednesday of the month from 8 to 9pm ET/5 to 6pm PT. 5) Attend the APCR Annual Meeting in person and participate in some capacity on the agenda. 6) Understand and learn the use of Robert’s Rules of Order and be prepared for agenda discussions by reading materials before the meeting. 7) Respond in a timely manner to Board related issues (maximum 48 hours) sent by the Executive Director for in-between Board input and voting needs. 8) Chair or serve as the Board liaison for one or more of APCR’s committees/workgroups/task forces. Information about APCR’s committees/work groups is located on the website: https://apcrnet.org/about/committees. 9) Host, present at and/or actively participate in one of APCR’s scheduled webinars or similar programming during the course of each year of service. 10) Contribute to the APCR and actively assist with fundraising efforts.  11) Participate in growing and sustaining APCR membership and sharing APCR membership benefits with your networks. 12)  Build relationships with industry partners to support the APCR industry council
