  • Deadline: Applications must be RECEIVED by DECEMBER 1, 2025

    Parade Date: THURSDAY December 4, 2025 at 6 p.m. Rain date: Monday, December 8 at 6 p.m.


    Route: Main Street in Downtown Cedartown (Parade start: East Ellawood Avenue | Parade end: East Queen Street)

     

    There is no charge to enter. You must have an application on file in order to participate.

    Please refer to the map below regarding the line-up area. Line-up is now taking place on East Ellawood Ave. This will extend the parade route approximatley 6 minutes (with the entire parade route little over one mile).

    CHARACTERS OF CHRISTMAS 

    IN ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR PRIZE MONEY, YOUR ENTRY MUST RELATE TO THE PARADE THEME*

    CATEGORY AND PRIZE INFORMATION

    CHRISTMAS STAR AWARD: $1,000 CASH

    (overall creativity, appearance and originality)

     

    CHRISTMAS MAGIC AWARD: $500 CASH

    (best entry featuring children, 18 and under)

     

    CHRISTMAS SPIRIT AWARD: $500 CASH

    (most energetic)

     

    CHRISTMAS SPARKLE AWARD: $300 CASH

    (entry with most lights and/or lighting effects)

     

    *CHRISTMAS SLEIGH AWARD: $200 CASH

    (best classic car or vehicle entry, this entry does not need to adhere to the theme of Characters of Christmas, but must use seasonal holiday decor to be considered for judging)

     

  • 2025 PARADE RULES AND REGULATIONS

    1. Deadline for parade entries is Monday, December 1, 2025 at 5 p.m.

    2. All floats must be in place on the day of the parade by 5 p.m.

    3. All entries must be tastefully decorated to include creativity and originality adhering to the current year’s parade theme. Remember that a large portion of the audience will be children.

    4. Only Christmas music will be allowed.

    5. Judges will evaluate the entrant’s interpretation of the parade theme and award prizes accordingly.  Groups eligible for prize money include: churches, non-profit organizations, private residents, businesses and industry, civic groups, and schools.     6. Parade line up numbers will be assigned by the parade
    coordinator. You will be notified of your parade position via phone the day before the parade or the morning of, so please be sure to list a number you have easy access to.

    7. Anyone driving a vehicle in the parade, including ATVs, motorcycles and go carts must be a licensed driver.

    8. Horseplay, laying drag, wheelies, donuts, etc. will not be tolerated. Violators will be removed from the parade. (Exception: Shriners)

    9. SANTA CLAUS SUITS ARE NOT ALLOWED. Santa will be the last entry in the parade to greet children.

    10. THROWING OF CANDY OR ANY OBJECT FROM PARADE ENTRANTS IS NOT ALLOWED FOR SAFETY REASONS. Walkers are allowed to hand off candy to onlookers.

    11. No one is allowed to get on or off a float or entry once it has started down the parade route for safety reasons.

    12. Parade entrants are not allowed to detour from the parade route and can not intentionally stop the flow of the parade.

  • ATVs | SIDE BY SIDES | UTVs GOLF CARTS and GO-CARTS

    If you plan on entering ATVs, Side by sides, UTVs or golf carts, you MUST list the exact number of vehicles that will participate. The number of vehicles listed on your application must be the number of vehicles that participate on parade day. Failure to follow this rule will result in removal from the parade line-up.

    Entries must be decorated for the season in order to participate in the parade.

    PLEASE REMEMBER THERE ARE SMALL CHILDREN ALONG THE SIDE OF THE PARADE ROUTE.

    1. DON'T GUN IT.

    2. DON'T BURN RUBBER.

    3. NO DONUTS OR WHEELIES.

    4. BE CONSIDERATE OF BYSTANDERS.

  • WALKERS and DANCERS

    Walkers and dance groups are not allowed to intentionally stop the flow of the parade. Walkers and dancers are not allowed to stop and perform along any part of the parade route. Only Christmas music will be allowed to accompany walkers and dancers.
