Umpiring is more than blowing a whistle—it's about leadership, fairness, and keeping the game safe and enjoyable for everyone. If you're ready to step up, take a look at the qualities that make a great umpire:
- Clear Communicator – You use confident voice, body language, and signals to guide the game.
- Fair Decision-Maker – You apply rules consistently and make quick, accurate calls under pressure.
- Honest & Impartial – You act with integrity and fairness at all times.
- Calm Under Pressure – You stay composed, even when things get heated.
- Resilient – You handle criticism and conflict without losing focus.
- Accountable – You own your actions and strive to improve.
- Humble – You know there’s always more to learn.
If these sound like you—or who you want to become—then umpiring could be your next great challenge.
