OUTHOUSE STRUCTURE RULES: Dimensions: Each outhouse must have minimum dimensions of 4ft in length, 4ft in width, and 6ft om height. It must include three (3) solid sides, a sloped roof, and a front door that opens. Optional windows may be included, with a maximum size of 12ftx12ft. MATERIALS: Structures must be constructed from sturdy materials such as wood, metal, or composite. Use of cardboard, plastic, fabric, chicken wire, or simply unstable materials is strictly prohibited. WHEELS: Outhouses must have at least 2 wheels with each wheel mounted no more than 10 inches outside the walls of the structure. PUSH HANDLES: Grasping devices for push handles must not exceed 24 inches in length. Ropes are not permitted. The maximum total width must be entirely human-powered. Motors, pedals, or any mechanical propulsion systems are not allowed. TOILET PAPER: Each outhouse must include a roll of toilet paper as part of the design. IDENTIFICATION: Each outhouse must display a name or theme clearly visible on the exterior. REQUIREMENTS: At least one team member must ride inside the outhouse during the race. The seat must be securely fastened, and the rider must have access to a safety grasping device. SAFETY COMPLIANCE: Any outhouse or team deemed unsafe by event officials will be disqualified and not be allowed to compete.

Outhouses must NOT contain or display explicit language or pornographic content. RACE FORMAT: Races will be conducted in head-to-head heats, with two outhouses competing at a time. Winners advance to the next round. DESIGN REQUIREMENT: Outhouses must resemble traditional outdoor toilets in appearance to maintain the spirit of the event. CONDUCT AND PENALTIES: Teams crossing the center safety line or engaging in unsafe behavior may be penalized or disqualified at the discretion of race officials.

TEAM COMPOSITION: Teams may consist of up to five (5) members, with one required to ride inside the outhouse during the race. HELMET USE: Helmets are strongly recommended for all participants and are mandatory for the team member riding inside the outhouse. AGE REQUIREMENT: All participants must be 14 years of age. There is no weight limit for riders. RACE WINNERS: Winners are determined based on the order in which they complete the final heat.

As a participant, I, the undersigned, fully acknowledge and accept the inherent risks of accident or injury associated with the Outhouse Race and its related activities. I voluntarily assume all such risks and agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless the City of Fruita, Fruita Area Chamber of Commerce, the Fruita Fall Festival, their sponsors, and affiliates from any liability for bodily injury or property damage that may arise from my participation in this event. I have read and agree to comply with all rules and regulations outlined on this application. All participants will be required to sign a waiver on or prior to the Outhouse Race.
