• Jeweler Richard Fan Anthology Project

Interest Check Form - fill out to be contacted later with project submission info!
  • This is an interest check form for a Jeweler Richard fan anthology organized and edited by saicoink. There will be a print version and PDF version. This project is planned for Spring / Summer 2026 release.

    Book Format
I (saicoink) will handle the layout, book production, shipping, and upfront costs. It will be in a style of an old school black & white zine from the 1980s and 1990s when zines meant a hand-bound and photocopied book. The book will be in either B6 or A5 international size.

The book will mostly be in black & white, but there might be funds for some colour illustration inserts.

Depending on the number of people interested in submitting something, I may need to limit the amount of participants or limit submission length for certain entries. This form will help me determine how large the book will be and how much it will cost to produce.

    Goal of Project
This project is meant to create a physical object to help us commemorate and remember our love for Jeweler Richard. Instead of a glossy high cost full colour book that is associated with many fan anthologies nowadays this will be a more low-key lo-fi production.

I was planning to send a copy of the completed book to Tsujimura sensei to show her the support for JR outside of Japan. If you don't want Sensei to see your fanwork please let me know. I can remove your work from her copy at your request.

    How can you participate?
You can submit an illustration, comic, fan fiction, and written essay or article. Content must be in English and appropriate for teens (16+).

If you are interested in lending a hand in cover design please fill out the form with links to samples of your design work.

There is also the "other" category on the form. Do you have cosplay photos? Photos from somewhere you went relavant to JR? Have a recipe or cooking disaster story that made you think of JR? If you have an idea that is out of the box please feel free to propose it.

If you were inspired to do something like travel somewhere, go to a museum, attend a gemshow, eat or make a new sweet because of Jeweler Richard and want to share that experience please also consider filling out the form!

Messages to Tsujimura Sensei - Open to All
As the last Jeweler Richard novel volume will release this year in the fall in Japanese, I want to dedicate a couple pages in the book or make a separate small booklet with short messages to Tsujimura sensei from fans around the world.

If you don't want to submit any fanwork you can still contribute a short message to Sensei and/or write about what you love about JR. Please submit the form with your contact information below and I will contact you in late 2025 / early 2026.

    Submission Themes
The Jeweler Richard Discord has proposed a month of Jeweler Richard fanworks this December 2025. Works you produce for this fan event can be used as a submission for this fan anthology. Each week has a general theme and an AU theme.

The themes for Jeweler Richard Month 2025 are:
    Dec. 1 - 12: Travel / Penpal AU
Dec. 8 - 14: Sweets / Royalty or Emporer AU
    Dec. 15 - 21: Memories / Fairytale AU
Dec. 22 - 31: Favourites / Your Favourite AU Trope
    Dec. 24 Special: Richard's Birthday

You are welcome to submit something that is not in these themes. Please tell me your idea in the form below, and we can explore it further.

    Format and Length
Illustration and comics must be drawn in international B5 size (250mm x 176mm). Please have at least a 12mm margin on the right or left hand size for the book gutter. If you have bleeds, please have at least 7mm excess on 3 sides. Files must be in black & white BMP, PNG or TIF file format and at least 600 dpi to be print ready. Colour illustrations can be 300dpi. Any B&W drawing file lower than 600dpi resolution or any colour image file under 300dpi will be rejected. A template will be provided.

    Illustrations: up to 2 illustrations
Comics: up to 8 pages - may change depending on the number of participants
Writing: up to 8 pages in Word document in 12pt font - may change depending on the number of participants

If you want to contribute more than these limits please let me know what you have in mind! The page limits may get larger if there are not many participants.

Survey will end on September 30th. After this date, you can still contact if you are interested in participating in the project, and I will see if we have space.

  • I will contact everyone interested in submitting fanwork by November 2025. I will contact everyone interested in sending a message to Tsujimura sensei sometime in late 2025 / early 2026.

Thank you for taking the time to fill out this form!
