    Application for GRI Designation Approval
  • To earn your Graduate, REALTOR® Institute (GRI) designation, you must earn 120 GRI credits within a five-year period and be a REALTOR® in good standing.

    GRI credits are earned by completing the following, in any order:

    • The three GRI Core Courses (36 GRI credits)
    • The Required Electives (36 GRI credits)
    • The Open Electives (48 GRI credits)

    Core Courses – 36 credits

    • Risk Management - 2-Day Course (15 credits)
    • Skill Building – 2-Day Course (15 credits)
    • Systems and Tools – 1-Day Course (6 credits)
  • Required Electives – 36 credits any NAR-affiliated designation/certification courses. GRI credit values equal Georgia CE credit values. i.e. The ABR two-day core course = 12 GRI Required Elective credits.

    Attach to Application – Proof of completion and completion date. You do not have to complete the designations/certifications – only complete the courses toward earning those designations/certifications.

    Open Electives – 48 credits: Attach – Proof of completing your open electives. Attach – Copy of your RE license, click here to download the Transaction & Transaction Volume Affidavit, and click here for directions how to download proof of CE completion from the real estate commission.

  • Once the GAR Professional Development Department reviews your application, you will be sent an email as to whether your application was approved. If approved, you will also receive your GRI diploma and instructions on how to pay the $25.00 GRI application fee.

    Credits:

    2 Credits per year for first five years
    1 Credit per year after fifth year in business

    1 Credit per closed transaction either as the listing agent, selling agent, or leasing agent
    2 Credits per closed transaction for a non-coop transaction

    1 Credit per hour for CE credits earned above Georgia’s minimum number of required CE credits for real estate license renewal period
    46 Credit Maximum (Excludes: 36 credits for GRI Core Courses, 36 credits for Required Electives, and 36 credits for license renewal)
