  • The Pine Rivers Bears are hosting a 6-week development program for girls at Petrie, starting on Tuesday, 14th October until Thursday 20th November . Sessions will be held every Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00 to 7:15 pm (subject to the weather). This program is open to girls of all skill levels, from beginners to more experienced players. It’s designed to enhance their rugby league abilities while providing a supportive and structured environment. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your skills, this is a great opportunity to grow your game, connect with others, and enjoy the experience.   • We are excited that your child has shown interest in participating in our Girls (ages 11-16) Development Program for 2025. Due to the physical nature of rugby league, it is essential that every participant has signed parental permission for the details outlined below.

  • Fitness Training Sessions

  • During the course of this program your child may participate in a variety of fitness training sessions. These sessions may include one or a combination of the training methods below:

    • Resistance training
    • Basic weight training
    • Boxing fitness circuits
    • Cardio circuits
    • Speed and agility circuits
    • Pilates and yoga
    • Basic weight lifting technique
    • Gym sessions at Pine Rivers Junior Rugby Leagues Club
  • Contact Training

  • As part of the Girls Development Program and the Pine Rivers Junior Rugby League Club, your child will be participating in 'contact training' sessions throughout the program. These sessions will involve the use of tackle bags and pads, as well as full body-on-body contact. The training is specifically designed to teach players the correct tackle techniques, ensuring their safety during match play. All sessions will be conducted by qualified staff to maintain a safe and supportive environment.

  • Participates are to adhere to the following equipment requirements and personal control measures:

    • Wear footwear and clothing appropriate for activity
    • Bring own drink bottle to stay hydrated
    • Participates must wear a mouthguard when participating in Rugby League. Pine Rivers Junior Rugby Leagues Club strongly recommends that students wear custom-fitted mouthguards. We are required to provide information about the different types of mouthguards to parents / carers to assist them make an informed choice for the student, for example, see the Sport Medicine Australia - Dental Injuries (http://sma.org.au/sma-site- content/uploads/2018/04/MouthGuard.pdf) and the Australian Dental Association (https://www.ada.org.au/Your-Dental-Health/Teens-12-17/Mouthguards) recommendations.
  • Media Consent

  • During the 6-week Pine Rivers Junior Rugby League Club's Girls Development Program, photos and/or videos of participants may be taken for use in club publications, such as the club newsletter, Facebook page, and website. By signing below, you consent to the use of these photos and videos in the mentioned materials.

  • NRL Risk Waiver

  • Participation in the Pine Rivers Bears NRL Girls Development Program requires participants to accept the following risk waiver:

    I agree for my child to attend the Pine Rivers Junior Rugby League Club and participate in all activities associated with the program. In the case of an emergency, I authorise the Pine Rivers Junior Rugby League Club staff, where it is impractical to communicate with me, to arrange for my child to receive any necessary medical treatment. I also agree to pay or reimburse any costs incurred for medical attention, ambulance transport, and medication while my child is attending the program at Pine Rivers Junior Rugby League Club.

    I understand that, although Pine Rivers Junior Rugby League Club and its service providers strive to minimise the risk of personal injury, accidents can happen, and all physical activities carry the risk of injury. I acknowledge and accept that there is an inherent risk of personal injury in the physical activities involved in the program at Pine Rivers Junior Rugby League Club.

  • By signing this form, I agree to all of the following statements:

    • I have read all the information contained in this form regarding the activity (including any attached material).
    • I am aware that the Pine Rivers Junior Rugby League Club does not provide personal accident insurance cover for participants.
    • I give consent for the named child to participate in the identified activity.
    • In the event of an accident or illness, club staff may obtain or administer any medical assistance or treatment the child may reasonably require, including contacting their doctor.
    • I accept liability for all reasonable costs incurred by the Pine Rivers Junior Rugby League Club in obtaining such medical assistance or treatment (including any transportation costs) and undertake to reimburse the club for the full amount of those costs.
    • I have provided the club with all relevant details of the child’s medical or physical needs upon registration/enrolment and, where applicable, have updated this information.
    • I give consent for the child’s contact information to be shared in relation to this activity in compliance with relevant Queensland Chief Health Officer’s Directions.
