  • YAEP Application for Professional Development Financial Assistance with Credit and Non-Credit Courses

  • Funding for credit and non-credit courses is available three times annually. This form is to apply for courses with a start date between September 1st and December 31st, 2025. Funding is quite limited and is allocated on a first come first served basis.

  • Teachers-On-Call (TOCs), with an average of 30 hrs./month (25 hrs. at KLS & NBJ) over the two-month period prior to making their funding application, beginning the first school day of the school year, are eligible to be supported through the YAEP PD Fund. As an eligible member, TOCs may apply for one of the following, each trimester, to a maximum combined total of $1800 per school year:

    1 credit course (to a maximum of $600 per course)

    1 non-credit course (to a maximum of $400 per course)

    1 Virtual Learning PD event (to a maximum of $ 400 per event)

    (TOC members must maintain a minimum average of 30 hrs./month (25 hrs. at KLS & NBJ) over the duration of their approved PD event. Reimbursement for TOC summer courses (courses ending after the last day of school in the school year) will be made upon completion of 50 hrs. (30 hrs. at KLS & NBJ) of work over a two-month period beginning the first school day of the school.) 

    Effective – September 1, 2025

  • Credit course applications will be accepted for review up to 14 days after the course's start date. 90% of the cost of tuition fees is available, up to a cumulative MAXIMUM assistance per school year of $4,100. Credit course work must not occur during school hours

  • Non-credit course applications must be submitted no later than 14 days prior to course start. 75% of the cost of course fees is available, up to a cumulative MAXIMUM assistance per school year of $3,000. The maximum number of Teacher-On-Call days to cover your teaching assignment is five.

  • - Applicant must be a YAEP member.

    - Applicant must not be on educational leave

    -In the case of summer credit courses and when applicants are on leave, applicants must be returning to a position in a Yukon school the following year. Applicants will only be re-imbursed upon return to their employment with the Department of Education.

    -Must have selected a course that relates to a teaching field or to a relevant degree.

    -Complete 1 application per course.

    -For lesser known institutions, please ensure that they are accredited before applying.
