PISTON HIGHWAY & GEARS N’ GLAMOUR MAGAZINE SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

 

The information that you are providing is strictly for either Piston Highway or Gears N' Glamour magazines. Your information is kept confidential and is utilized so the magazines have verification and approval for your information to be submitted and accepted either of the two magazines. 

Pinup Models: Please note that there are two magazines. Piston Highway is a magazine for vehicle owners and only up to 2 available spots for pinups posing with vehicles (if space permitted) along with our sister magazine; Gears N’ Glamour, which is strictly for pinups posing with vehicles. Pinup models, If you submit your photos they could either be in Piston Highway or Gears N’ Glamour depending on space available.

·        All vehicle owners, pinup models and photographers are encouraged to submit their images. Both Piston Highway and its sister magazine; Gears N’ Glamour are open submission. Please go to both Piston Highway and Gears N’ Glamour magazine Facebook pages and hit like/follow to see all updated information being posted. It also helps us to tag you when the Magazine comes out.

·        Piston Highway always accepts content on vehicle owners and their stories, pinups posing with vehicles and car show/event coverage.

·        Gears N’ Glamour is strictly a magazine for pinups posing with vehicles.

·        All submissions must include a properly completed release form from Jotform. If the form is not properly completed (any missing information), your submission will be forfeited and deleted. IF THERE IS MISSING INFORMATION, WE WILL NOT PUBLISH YOUR PHOTOS OR INFORMATION.

·        All Submissions must meet our guidelines, or your submission will be forfeited.

·        Vehicle Owners: Submit a minimum of 10 photos and maximum of 20, the more photos, the better the selection. WE WILL NOT ACCEPT YOUR SUBMISSION IF THERE IS LESS THEN 10 PHOTOS. PHOTOS SHOULD BE BOTH HORIZONTAL AND VERTICAL.

·        Piston Highway & Gears N’ Glamour Pinup Models: Submit a minimum of 8 and maximum of 14 photos, the more photos, the better the selection. WE WILL NOT ACCEPT YOUR SUBMISSION IF THERE IS LESS THEN 10 PHOTOS. PHOTOS SHOULD BE BOTH HORIZONTAL AND VERTICAL.

·        All images must be of high resolution with at least 300dpi, photos must be taken with a professional camera and not a cell phone. 8.25 inches by 10.75 inches is best. 3 by 4 ratio is best. Do NOT crop any photos, if we need to alter a photo by cropping, we can do it based on the amount of space available.

·        Submissions will not be accepted through social media. We only accept photos through email. Unless you are a photographer, we will not accept photos in a zipped/compressed format.

·        We do not accept selfies or screenshots. Blurry/out-of-focus photos will NOT be accepted for submission. Photos must be taken with a professional photo and not a phone.

·        No full nudity, implied nudity is allowed.

·        Images must be in JPG/JPEG format only.

·        Images with watermarks will be accepted, however, a) watermark cannot hinder the focal point of the photo (i:e vehicle or model) and b) we do not guarantee the watermark will be visible based on where it is placed. There is a .2 “ no-text space surrounding the full edge of the entire magazine.

·        We do not accept any photos that have been created with AI. We can, however, accept flyer for your business with AI content.

·        All models must be at least 18 years of age to submit. IF you are a photographer/parent and are wanting to submit a “clean” photo set of a minor; a) a Jotform submission must be filled out and b) a written release from the parent must be properly completed and emailed into us. 

·        Piston Highway: A full page bio must be submitted through email by all vehicle owners.

·        We accept images that have been posted on social media HOWEVER, we will NOT accept images that have been published in other magazines.

·        Pinup Models: All submitted images must be of the model in the same attire and with the same vehicle. Photo submissions must have several different poses, do NOT submit if all poses are similar, they will NOT be published. Use only one outfit per image set or concept.

·        Pinup Model: Please make sure that the vehicle is “seen” in the photos as well. Utilize the vehicle; front back, side and inside (if owner allows).

·        Include both horizontal and vertical images in your submitted photo set.

·        Due to the number of submissions, submitted content is NOT a guarantee of publication. Content for publication is used based on deadlines being met and what is used to fit the criteria of the magazine.

·        We do send an email notification to vehicle owners and models if we select your photo set for submission to either of our publications.

·        The owner, editor and photographers of both Piston Highway & Gears N’ Glamour Magazine will not be held liable for legal issues due to any false statements, signatures, incorrect submissions, incorrect text, or any other indemnifying liability.

·        Piston Highway & Gears N’ Glamour Magazine will not be held accountable for misspelled or missing credits; it is my responsibility as the submitter to correctly provide all information`. Should I forget a creditor, misspell a word or give inaccurate information, I understand that Piston Highway & Gears N’ Glamour Magazine will not change it after the publication has launched. I am aware and completely understand how extremely important it is to get this information correct on this form and I take full responsibility for any text or photography information that I submit. 

·  Pinup models do not need to turn in a bio.   

I affirm that all my statements given to Piston Highway & Gears N’ Glamour Magazine are true as the provider of the photos/information submitted.

·        I will make sure that my photographer is not only aware of my submission but has given me full permission to submit and publish my photos in either Piston Highway or Gears N’ Glamour magazines.

·        Piston Highway & Gears N’ Glamour Magazine do not provide free copies, tear sheets OR pay for any magazines or email submissions.

·        All monthly publications are printed as a “print-to-purchase” publication on the Magcloud (publisher) website. 

·        Photographers must be copyright holders and will be responsible if a claim is made against Piston Highway & Gears N’ Glamour Magazine for copyright infringement.

·        By submitting photos or information, I am granting permission to publish and distribute my work in any shape or form, along with getting the approval from my photographer.

·        Do NOT contact either Piston Highway or Gears N' Glamour on any platform asking for an update on your submission status or your submission will be deleted and forfeited.

·        IF your Jotform submission is not FULLY completed, your submission will be deleted and forfeited. Do not forget your phone number, email, FB, IG accounts, photographers information, year, make, model and the name of the vehicle.

·        Deadline to submit photos, bios and any other information is 5 days before the end of each month. IF you submit your photos after this time, they will not be published (if accepted) until next month’s publication.

·        EVERYDAY we see killer vehicles and gorgeous pinup photos being submitted that we are unable to publish either because a) the frame is being used up, b) too much hard nudity for pinups, c) different attire in each photo,  d) photo is too blurry,  e) Not enough photos being turned in for a good selection, f) JotForm not properly completed or filled out correctly or g) different vehicles used in the photo set.

 

COVER INFORMATION:

We are always looking for amazing pinups and killer vehicles to grace our front covers. Please submit your “best” images with as little background noise as possible. There should be room within the image to add font on our end.

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Images that have been posted on social media will NOT be accepted for cover selections. We will choose the best submission that relates to each magazine for the cover. The chance of becoming one of our cover models chosen for cover is to turn in a minimum of 10 photos, but more are preferred for a better selection.

PLEASE READ ALL INFORMATION IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR PUBLICATION!!

Vehicle Owners: Photos of your vehicle must be via a professional camera and NOT a phone, due to quality for the magazine. We take all makes and models of any car, truck, bike, hot rod or rat rod. (All pre 1974) Photos submitted must be 1) different angles of your vehicle; interior, engine, trunk, wheels, etc. to allow readers to truly be introduced to your vehicle. 2) Give all of the information regarding the vehicle; year, make, model, name of vhehicle, etc. 3) Email us a bio that contains information about both you and your vehicle to keep the readers engaged. This is your vehicle and you are proud enough to submit it into the magazine, so please give us as much information as possible to make a great story.

We offer: 

* Roddin' Spotlight Page: Every month we feature a car owner and their sweet ride. Whether you own a classic, rat rod, truck, or bike. We love hearing stories of how people obtained their vehicles...whether they were built or bought. We offer a large feature that involves an interview and some photos of your vehicle that you send over to us. (unless one of our photographers is in your area, then we can come out to you). We ask for a minimum of 10 photos, the more photos the better the story and feature will be for us to go through and find the best photos for the article. (This  submission form must be filled out completely to be in the magazine). The editor may already have this part of the magazine filled, if this is the case, we will put you in the magazine under "featured vehicle" if we have the room or may bump your submission to a future publication.

* Feature Vehicles: We always feature vehicles in our magazine. If you have a vehicle and would like us to show it off for you, just contact us, we can publish your vehicle with a feature (if space permits). No interviews, just some photos of your sweet ride and a full bio about you and your vehicle. This is for classic cars, trucks, rat rods, hot rods and motorcycles. (This submission form must be filled out to be in the magazine).

Car shows/Events: We would love to feature your car show in our magazine. You can send us a write up or we can contact you and interview you over the phone or in person (if we are in your neck of the woods), along with your submitted photos. (This submission form must be filled out to be in the magazine).

Advertising/Sales: Advertising/Sales are $50.00 for a full page, $25.00 for half page. (You must have your flyer/ad magazine ready)
